Great video! Thanks so much for sharing your tips - it's so helpful to get a realistic account of the trek. We are going at the end of March and feel a bit unprepared but this video helped a lot! If you wouldn't mind, could you please share how heavy your bags weighed? Would love to see a gear/what to pack video if you have any tips for that too!

Glad it was helpful! Our bags weighed about 8kg once they were packed, without any food. Once we added food and water, they weighed about 11kg. Hope you have an awesome time!

Thanks for the great tips! I'm leaving in a few weeks and this helps put things in perspective. Did you say your day 3 you went from Paine Grande to Chileno? Or did you stay the night at Cuernos? If you went all the way to Chileno then I am impressed!

Haha no we didn’t - we definitely wouldn’t have made that! We went Paine Grande to Cuernos on Day 3, and Cuernos to Chileno on Day 4 - that was tough enough!

awesome video . can you buy bottled water (1 litre or so ) at the refuges for the day ? or a takeaway coffee ? or would i need to take my own coffee mug ? thanks .

Thank you. We didn’t see bottled water for sale at the refugios, although we weren’t looking for it. I don’t think any of them had takeaway coffee either, the park is pretty environmentally conscious, so I definitely recommend bringing your own bottle and mug.

Nice video! What month were you there. And did you pack in your own tent or are they provided/ semipermanent /already set up at the permanent at the campground?

We were there in March. We opted to hire a tent at each campsite, which means it’s set up for you when you arrive. There is an option to bring your own, but it was great not having to set it up each night

Hello! I’m leaving for the W Trek in March 2024. Thank you for all the stats - super helpful in planning my training. Wondering how many hours of hiking you did per day?
@loversgetlost
@loversgetlost 6 ай бұрын
We hiked for about 9-10 hours everyday, including a very quick stop for lunch. Day 3 was almost 12 hours, as was day 5

Thanks for all your information. Was just wondering at the prices of the tent only accommodation for two. Do you remember how much it is a night? Is it cheaper if you take your own sleeping bag? Are the prices per night for tent accommodation the same at each camp ground?
@loversgetlost
@loversgetlost 3 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching! No, it’s not the same price at each campsite, 2 are owned by one company, and the other 2 are owned by a different company. It’s much much cheaper if you bring your own stuff (sleeping bag, tent, food), but then of course you have to carry it all! Check out vertice.travel and lastorres.com for current pricing

Hi guys. Did you book your own Refugio’s. Struggling to find a website where we can book them
@loversgetlost
@loversgetlost 6 ай бұрын
Hey! Yeah we did, we booked on Vértice Patagonia for Grey & Paine Grande campsites, and we booked on Las Torres for Cuernos & Chileno. The Stingy Nomads have a good blog post explaining the booking process, we used that as a bit of a guide when we booked
