With just weeks to go before filming for Anyone But You began, Glen Powell’s training stepped up a notch...
The Top Gun Maverick star’s goal was simple: build a showstopping beach body for what became the biggest rom com of 2023 alongside Sydney Sweeney.
In this episode, our cameras follow Glen in the gym at Ultimate Performance Brentwood last year.
It’s a chance to find out which exercises and strongman movements he used to complete his ‘six-pack’ look.
And an opportunity to watch how Glen dialled in his technique to make every single rep count…

This coach is actually legit. Good mix of compound lifts along with enforcing controlled technique with pause reps and time under tension. Usually, "Hollywood" style training is a lot of BS/fluff. That's why Dr. Mike at Rennesiance Periodization has so much celebrity fitness content to pick apart. 😂

This Coach seems legit. So much compound and overall joint training. Dude is awesome! It does not seem like regular roided Hollywood training (getting 30lbs muscle in 6 months, roids... )

I suspect he's going to say something about the emphasis/pause on the contraction with the rows, rather than on the stretch...

this reminded me what it was like training with my first trainer, demanded absolute beast mode.. slightly hated him in the middle of the workout, but loved the results after!

These videos of Glen Powell are very inspiring and motivating. He is putting in the hard work. I wonder how often he trained in a week if he was doing Full Body days such as this?

This coach is awesome. He reminds me of this one female Brazilian coach that pushes her women clients to the point where they’re screaming. And those Brazilian female body builders have the LARGEST quads I’d ever seen

On the decline ab press thingy can anyone tell me why he fully extends to the bottom? I would have thought you go just above.the bottom to have your core engage? Appears to not be optimal but I don't understand why

I study exercise science and I assume it's bc at the bottom if you stay crunched sometimes the hip flexors can take over and although you're squeezing your abs you might not be using them. I find extending fully and then re-crunching and doing a sit up can help keep the abs as the working muscle, you'll notice he sits up in 2 phases (crunch his elbows down, then sit up) and I think it just helps him control his abs more
