The main reason that she is the way she is is so that she's balanced while still retaining a similar playstyle to her original counterpart. She's been heavily nerfed compared to Duodecim, but she was also arguably the best character in the game, so...

to be fair having any time stopping related abilities in a 3v3 arena fighter sounds damn impossible to balance. That said it is a shame considering that's literally her specialty, but I guess final fantasy VIII just can't have anything good. First Lionheart and now this.

Njilin depends on you/the hp attack you chose/if you are a premade team. I saw a guy who played her different according to those 3 points i said above. Some hp attack like that one where she just stands there und makes an explosion needs really good teamwork to use properly. The player must have always a good position depending on his teammates. Lets say she has a squall in his team. He uses his bravery attack and you have to act while he does it, by positioning yourself to the position where the enemy will get knocked down. Iam following a youtuber who does know how to act with every single hp attack. The playstyle changes massively. Sometimes he stays just at long range. Some times mid range. Behind his partners or at the wing side. Short: communication and team compability are important to have results that are worthy for this sorceress lol

Yes. But: 1) That's probably because Ultimecia doesn't have weapons of her own. So they used Rinoa's 2) The Director already confirmed, IN A VIDEO/ARTICLE, that Rinoa *is not* Ultimecia. Watch it yourself if you don't believe me. She's a Shooter/Marksman. They lack sufficient attack power -- regardless of actual power-level in the FF games. Terra of FFVI suffers the same repercussions in this game.

Even if you hit Ultimecia with bartz blackmage job master, mostly you will be hit with that damn VICISSIDITOUS BLADES and when you hitted by that damn VICISSIDITOUS BLADES, she will combo with chasing blade or arrow of pleasure. Kain jump is some ways can deal with her rather easy.

Try approaching from above or below, most of her attack except Indomitable Spear can't deal with vertical enemy . And aim for the end of her attack animation cause she will stop moving a bit.

When approaching from above : indomitable Spear When approaching from below : heavenly arrow (meteor) or mostly Ultimecia stay on the ground. Ultimecia almost never stay in HIGH air so you can sneak and peek her skirt. When thinking what should i do : You know what ? Still same VICISSIDITOUS BLADES and chasing blade or arrow of pleasure. Much worse, there is some player that using ultimecia mostly stay in corner and only move when there is no enemy close enough. So forget about ambush or sneak attack. And you know what, still spamming this : 1. VICISSIDITOUS BLADES 2. still VICISSIDITOUS BLADES 3. and VICISSIDITOUS BLADES 4. Dancing axe. Just like 5:56. just when you evade arrow of pleasue you hitted by VICISSIDITOUS BLADES and as result you hitted by VICISSIDITOUS BLADES and arrow of pleasure. This happen every time, i fight this person and lose 5 time in row until i bash her head with spamming kain jump. Other character at least needs wall to do a combo but this witch can dealing combo very easy in middle area (just like you say in 9:56)

Noctis Lucis Caelum Well just hope that Vicissitudinous Blade got nerfed. They usually do this. The only thing that counter the dash is either Black Mage her first or Knight. If you're using Exdeath you need to use Omni Block and approach her from the blind zone.
