Yea at the end of the day, it still involves ray tracing so it still destroys amd hardware. It gives some options but with a 7900xtx the real question is, would you trade native 4K full raster for whatever you get from a mod like this? I struggle with that sometimes myself hahaha

Thanks for the feedback, yea it was abit challenging to plan where to put everything in the video cos there was so much footage to sort through and I completely forgot to put the bit about my system specs and graphics settings(I actually had that in the plans), will keep that in mind for future videos!

Thanks! Hmm I'm not too sure about photo mode, i used it to get the Thumbnail for the video and it seemed to work fine with PT20 installed.

Oh that's just a few simple tweaks (like the NRD thing I showed in the video) to ensure other mods with ini files don't turn something on or off that messes with my amd GPU. I have a few versions of that file added to vortex that I enable/disable depending on what mods I have installed. It's a pure compatibility thing, not performance tweaks haha. The ~~~~ gives it priority over all other ini's.

edit : I managed to get control to work. No idea why it didn't work the first time. The preset was wrong by default so I changed it and it works fine now.

Yep I am using the Preem Lighting(Light) in some clips and the regular preem env in others. The light edition has some vignette and a little more vanilla like fog, the regular Preem Env are the ones with absolutely no vignette(mostly the comparison clips).

I think the LUT completely destroys how the game looks. It's desaturated and muted, like a 2007 call of duty game :/

I do regret not showing that in hindsight. The reason I didn't include it was because it would not have been a fair comparison. PT21 on my system does not look like what PT21 is supposed to look like when run on Nvidia hardware, because I had to turn off the new denoisers and enable the old one. The higher versions are for those who want to squeeze everything out of the system at all costs and who have the hardware to do it(4090). I personally don't see much difference either but I know some do and want it, so that's what the higher quality options are for.

I do have the framegen mod installed, you can see the frame gen option available(but off) at the end of the video when I open my game settings. Unfortunately.... After months of endless trying, I just can't get the mod to work for me in Cyberpunk(I get no generated frames, just in cyberpunk, it works in other games). I've tried everything, with mods, no mods, fresh game installs, it just won't work, even a couple of Luke's discord guys couldn't help me. Oh and no worries it's a problem unique to my system, not ultra+ or Luke's mod. You can run framegen with ultra+ no problem.

Just use Reshade mods with PXX bloom, results look better then Path Tracing as its all native 4k resolution, textures look a million times better from my experience.

The good ol legacy ambientlight.fx shader works absolute wonders too when running without PT(I personally turn Dirt off though). Though there is a difference between RT Lighting On(even at medium) to Full Raster. It's not so much in the fine texture detail(it's the same textures) but it's how the AO is handled around the textures, giving the textures a lot more depth than in full raster. As I mentioned in an older video, there is a point where 4K full raster is just better looking than lower res and upscaled RT, even if the lighting is less accurate. The difference in fine detail at 4K with minimal upscaling is really hard to give up in exchange for "maybe better lighting" and crappy detail and jaggy aliasing. But, if RT Lighting on Medium(just lighting, nothing else), is doable for your GPU without dropping the resolution too low, I do feel RT Medium + AmbientLight can be very comparable to path tracing.

Hmm when it gets too dark, which variant were you using? Try swapping between PT20 and PT21 and see if one gets brighter versus the other. PT21 is based on the current implementation of PT so it tends to be brighter in shadowy areas. PT20 tends to be a little darker.

Oof that's a tough decision, I had my game set to auto update when 2.12a hit and it absolutely wrecked my game, had to eventually do a fresh install of the game to fix a whole bunch of issues caused by the patch. Regarding the RR and NRD thing, I remember seeing Sammi reply to a post about that saying she was looking into a fix. Not 100% certain it's the issue you are having but I hope it is so it'll get fixed for you in the next mod update.

I believe it did break for awhile and Sammi put out a 2.12 patch for it, then 2.12a broke the whole game for me personally and I needed to do a fresh install. The mod briefly had CTD issues with v3.3 but that has been fixed in 3.5.3. Honestly, from what I hear about the official game versions, if 2.11 is going smooth for you, prolly just stick with that. Lord knows what could happen haha. And keep your old files regardless. Ultimately it doesn't matter what version you use, the best version is the one that runs smoothest for you :). Also, fast is definitely faster than Performance, on all variants. I would keep your last Fast version handy if that meets your performance needs.

There's still something wrong with the PT22 modes IMO. The Fast mode is supposed to be much faster than Vanilla PT but it's currently slightly slower on my 3060 TI. The other PT22 modes are even slower. If you don't use PT22 the mod seems to work.

Looking at the mod description, it says there is a Rain Fix, maybe you need to install/activate that.

Hmm that's really unfortunate, can you share more info on what exactly happens to your saves? Are they getting corrupted? What version of the game are you on and what variant of the mod did you use? Also do you have any other mods installed? I've never heard of a graphics mod messing with saves. Based on what I know about how the game creates saves, such mods shouldn't influence it at all cos saves don't include graphic info, only location and progression info etc. The only thing I've come across are mods crashing the game while loading a given save but that's usually a mod issue, not a save issue, where removing the mod solves it.

@@KrushSG 2.12 and no they'll just crash and it's random which loaded saves will work and which ones will crash. Once I removed the mod I didn't have any issues with any saves.

Yes I did take some liberties with the thumbnail, though I hoped the inclusion of the ? At the end made it a good balance between "clickbait" and just a more eye catching thumbnail. For the record, I can't get 60fps on my 1440p 21:9 monitor either on my 7900xtx and I don't expect to, displaying 40% more pixels is gonna cost proportionally more performance no matter what you do, which for FSR typically equates to having to run 1 step more upscaling, for example going from 2560x1440p FSR Balanced, down to 3440x1440p FSR Performance, to get similar fps numbers

That's just windows being windows and flagging anything without proper credentials. That said, I won't tell you to ignore the warning and just use it, for 100% safety, don't. I don't want to risk recommending anything potentially malicious to my audience, but I will say the truth which is that I use it personally without issue(and yes I do get that warning too) and no it is far from the only thing I use across the entire breadth of what I do on my PC that triggers that warning haha.

I hear that it does, unfortunately it's Luke's fsr3 mod that doesn't work for me. I've been a Patreon of his since the day the mod released and no matter what I do, it just won't work on my system in cyberpunk(I get no generated frames), it works for everything else I've tried it on though.

You need to run PT 2.0 and 2.1 with PT enabled, which will remove RT settings from the window entirely. You need to turn PT Off and turn RT On only if you run the RT-Only or RT+PT variants.

I've had similar stuttering issues with recent versions.

Try version 3.5.1 or 3.5.3, I know 3.3.2 and 3.4 had some issues.

Glad you liked the video nonetheless! For the AMD part, while I am a long time amd fan, in this case it's less about wanting RT or PT and more about whether I need RT and PT in the bigger picture. I actually bought a 4090 at launch(I talked about this at length in a couple of older videos), used it for a month and sold it for a profit to someone else before getting my 7900xtx. So I know very well, first hand, what Nvidia brings to the table. My channel might be largely Cyberpunk content, but cyberpunk is the only game I actually play that has RT or PT. None of the other games I play regularly require any of it(cod, Helldivers, diablo, path of exile etc). I did not see the sense in giving up the chance to save some $800usd, the price difference of the 2 cards where I live, plus the $200 profit I sold my 4090 for, for a feature that is done properly well in only 1 game that I personally play. I do not debate that Nvidia has absolutely killed it with not only their hardware but also with their push for really good looking RT or PT with games like cyberpunk and AW2, I think you can tell from how I worded the video that I very much admire what CDPR and Nvidia have done with cyberpunk. Games like this show that the future of top tier game visuals will certainly be written in RT and PT. For the record, amd didn't go for 3 generations of almost no RT. They never even started proper RT support, period. Not to me anyway, and I have no problem going with an Nvidia card in the future when more games bring proper RT support rather than tracing a couple of inconsequential rays just so they can stick the "rtx" tag on their splash screens. That time for me however, is not this generation.

LOL "Trying to hold back hardware rt, pt, and upscaler". Bro, comeon, there is no way you see AMD increase RT performance by over 65% gen on gen and then say they are trying to hold back RT support. They have RT support as good as an RTX 3090/4070Ti in most RT heavy games and in Unreal Engine 5 games the 4080 and 7900 XTX are neck in neck. How is AMD holding back RT when they are in the range of Nvidia GPUs that cost $800+? In fact, I think they pushed RT support forward even more than Nvidia by not locking FSR 3 behind RDNA 3 unlike Nvidia, and making the entry point of RT hardware $500 with PS5 and Xbox Series X.

That sounds like one of your other mods aren't up to date. It happens quite often right after the game gets patched. I couldn't tell you which one it was though... When patch 2.12a hit a bunch of folks got that error(myself included), it turned out to be different mods causing it for different people, mine was caused by a H10 megabuilding mod for example.

If I disable everything and keep only Cyber Tweaks I get the same error.@@KrushSG
