It sort of is. Evil Ryu and Evil Ryu can not appear at the same time. It’s either one or the other. This is like that one sf3 comic. The fight happens in Ryu’s head before he becomes Shin Ryu. But their can be mirror matches between characters. I’m a smart idiot.

Ryu's 2 Metsu Ultras are him actively supressing the evil part and bringing out only the good, non-lethal part. His Metsu Shoryuken feels more like a Shin Sho, was probably named incorrectly.

@@handlessuck589 His hadouken becomes purple like all other dark hadou users (Akuma, Evil ryu, etc) and his metsu shoryuken has a black tint to it thats just like dark hadou respective variants. I believe this represents Ryu's inner struggle yes but using his dark side in times of trouble, hence the weakened look he has after throwing his metsu hadoken. Also notice metsu- related attacks are not taught by gouken and ken doesn't use them. Just an interesting detail the game adds to highlight his battle within himself throughout the street fighter 4 series.

@@mikestadisfield8904 3 years late but I do believe that the Ultra Combo meter is called "Revenge Gauge" or whatever it's called, so it would make sense for Ryu to utilize the dark hadou whenever he's in a pinch.

Hi Laurent. :) Actually I main the Shotos & some other characters. Ryu is one of them. I started off playing SF2 using Ryu & over the years I got really used to using Ryu. Only the time SF4 was released when I switched places with Akuma & remained till today. :D

If you count without FADC, then yes. The reason I abstain from using FADC is to build up meter for a Super Finish :)

What is FADC?

Nickster S That'd be Focus Attack Dash Cancel. You burn a little bit of meter to cancel your current string. It's basically a combo extender.
