I have been neglecting Ultra Talent/Form way too long. It's no good to postpone it and the list starts to grow big. So I decide to work them slowly from now. Let's start from the simplest entry: Masamune

About Video:
Ultra Talent/Form video will focus purely to showcase unit's full potential. We will throw every upgrade available and see the final product through the end. By the time you finish this video, you will learn two important information:
1. What you can expect from their Ultra Talent/Form
2. How much investment you need to fully grow them
About Cost Table:
It's used to calculate the overall NP or other item investment needed to fully grow them. All investments are categorized into 5 parts:
1. Basic: What you need to unlock Ultra Talent/Form from Lv50. It always contains 15 Dark Catesyes and evolution material for Ultra Form.
2. Primary. The bare minimum to reach the ideal Ultra Form/Talent
3. Secondary. Supplementary investment that doesn't as important as Primary, but still contributes to final product. Ideally, you want to purchase everything in Primary and Secondary
4. Optional. Generally good investment, but it's unrelated to final product or just give small benefit
5. Not Recommended: It's bad investment, sometimes worthless.
About Personal Score:
It's my own personal score about how important Ultra Talent/Form is.
- 1 Star: It's borderline scam. You gain nothing from this investment
- 2 Star: There is clear change and improvement but it's not enough to change the unit to top tier. Mostly either the final product is situational or easily replaceable
- 3 Star: It's good investment but I don't find it appealing or interesting
- 4 Star: A staple final product. Easily change the unit to heavy top class. You can't go wrong with this investment
- 5 Star: The ideal Ultra Talent/Form. Change the unit to the meta unit. Personally I recommend this investment.

Fidget Spinner man strikes back (Yeah old 2017 joke i know) I never understand why they only gave him one ultra talent. It never really seemed too much if they added like 1 or 2 more. Also side note even though it's probably not worth mentioning, You can use dupes to increase Masamune's level beyond 50 so it's not only limited to Dark Catseye

50 np on a better unit will always be more impactful than a 0.2% increase in dps from that +lvl

@@ericknunez8069 Yeah but the dps isnt the point here, using dupes here for +lvl would be to save dark catseyes which is pretty worth it

Glad to see you reviewing ultra talents now. I really like the review. You talk about how it really improves the unit and also account for talent orbs. And you don’t say it’s just completely stupid to invest when it’s not the most optimal choice. The way I see the utlra talents and ultra forms is to upgrade the units you like.

Right now I feel that the only way to get dark catseyes is from Barons. Unless Labyrinth make a comeback in EN

You can hoard silver tickets and lucky tickets then use the tracker to make sure you get every single cateye dark when the cateye gacha is available.

Ultra Talents and Ultra forms should be able to boost a unit by making them better at their niche or giving them a new one entirely for the investment that’s needed. Masumune being able to do BOTH is honestly amazing giving how much he’s been beaten down over the years. Not the one i’ll be working on next but very happy to see ponos was able to give this guy something great

Ah yes the Uber that is specifically tailored to lenoir becomes better vs lenoir. Also with the nuke dps being customizable I could certainly see potential value in mixed stages of separating the red/black from the other enemy type and dpsing the second type on some stages

Dont forget that you can use +1 uber dupes to level them up, you can invest a unit to level 60 not only with catseyes. With dupes you can save a few dark catseyes.

For me, the mini-wave looks interesting if we compare it to slime cat, having a wave damage of 12.000 every few seconds makes chipping backliner very possible

God I wish a unit this cool was better. I guess maybe relic orbs would fit him well? No need to worry about curse when he doesn't have relic targetting on his kit and there's less competition in the relic meta than most other types. Still though, the true competition he faces is against other ultra talents/ultra forms in dark catseye usage, and that's where he suffers

I am confused as to how the mini wave damage jumped so much, do attack up orbs apply the 13k directly onto mini wave?! Shouldn't it just be 20% of the new base attack?

The DMG boost from ATK Orb is absolute. It can't be affected by outside factor. It won't gain boost from DMG multiplier ability like Massive DMG, Strong, Savage Blow, etc. In same time, it also won't gain DMG nerf from thing like Weaken, Mini-Wave, and Mini-Surge. So, yeah. Masamune's Mini-Wave gains flat 13k DMG boost.

The fact Ponos gave him mini wave instead of regular wave makes it clear they wanted to focus on Masa's knockback instead of his high base generalist stats. Really getting good at battle cats is figuring out what units to use based on certain stats rather than abilities. Masamune has always been a prime example of this thought, so just a small nitpicky thing that's completely subjective. Miniwave doesn't hurt, but they could've given him more well-thoughtout things like weaken immune, or one of Shingen's *3 new targets.* He doesn't need all those, lol.

What are you talking about? Those would be terrible Ultra Talents. At least mini-wave improves his niche, curse and surge immune would just make him a slightly less shitty generalist lol Maybe they could work as regular talents, but as UT they would just be a waste of resources

curse/surge immune plus mini wave, cuz the problem with his ultra talents is not that mini wave isn’t good(like 100% for lv5 mini wave is amazing for him) the problem is that it’s only 1 talent

He seems good IF we don't compare him to Klay, Kuu, Anubis, Siege Engine, Windy, Coppermine, ... a huge number of units that are better than him to upgrade to level 60

The time for Ultra reviews has come. Sadly, this review kinda highlights the issue of Ultra Talent: they aren't worth it if they don't make a unit extremely strong or busted. Dark Catseyes are a scarce resource already (plus, Labyrinth has been absent from EN since last August) and UTs being more expensive than normal doesn't help. Using Dupes can reduce the amount of D.Catseyes required, but it also means losing 50 precious NP. TL:DR Ultra Talents are overpriced and only worth the cost if they make a unit extremely strong or busted.
