I cried when I found out I was having twins (it was my first pregnancy and I was only 19) it was completely overwhelming. Twins are a special gift not many people get to experience, You are so lucky. As for the actual babies I found twins easier than any single child because it mean't they always had a friend, there was no crying baby when you went to pee and they used to babble away to each other and giggle, it was super cute. Double congratulations xxx

My first pregnancy at 20 was twins (boy & girl) & I definitely agree/relate to this comment. Was unexpected & scary, but turned into my greatest blessings. They had their own little language, entertained each other & always looked out for each other...now they’re 8 years old & still the same way lol 😊😊

Congratulations Page Family! 🎉🎉🎉 I'm a Twin and here is my biggest tip: DO NOT name them rhyming names. Yes, it may sound cute to have Flo and Moe or Terry and Jerry. Resist the urge because...the hardest part about being a twin is your identity. Most people struggle with finding who they are when they are growing up, but when you're a twin, it's extra hard. The world is forcing you to be "Thing 1 and Thing 2." It's worse if your family does the same thing. So let them be their own people. Don't force them into rhyming names, wearing the same colors, or doing the same activities. Trust me they will be a lot happier and grow into their own special people a lot faster! Best of luck!! 👍Please like this so they can see the tips and trick.👍 Personal Identity is the biggest part of being a twin.

My twin pregnancy was SO different from my 3 others. It was way harder, I had morning sickness through ( none with the other), bad headaches, dizziness,major swelling ... I could go on. It was very rough on my body. But I would do it all again in a heartbeat. These babies are the most precious gift. Delivered my healthy baby girls at 36 weeks, no c-section and a quick recovery. I hope your birth goes as smoothly . Please keep us updated as much as possible. Congratulations on this wonderful blessing.

When we asked my 3-year old son if he thought he was going to have a brother or a sister, he said "a brother AND a sister". He turned out to be RIGHT!!!
@dianedemasi
@dianedemasi 4 жыл бұрын
This is so funny. When we were pregnant with our last, we told our son he was going to be a big brother. He said he wanted two. We laughed at him, "No, you only get one." had a couple doctor appointments, listened to one heartbeat, everything was fine. And then the ultrasound. And like you, complete shock. I don't even remember driving home. Thankful that big brother didn't ask for like six, haha. CONGRATULATIONS! It's so much fun. Exhausting and yes, the morning sickness was the worst, but as you already know, totally worth it. My biggest advice: don't stress about all the "twin" things. You'll get some crazy suggestions, you'll be told to respect their individuality, you'll have all these comments and recommendations of how to "raise them right." Just go with your gut. My boys came as a matched set and I read everything I could on twins. I tried to respect their individuality. I didn't call them "the twins." Unfortunately, when they were up to shenanigans, it was just quicker for me to say, "guys, stop that." "Come on guys." When we were at the back-to-school BBQ (Kindergarten), a child from the boys' class approached. "I know them, they're in my class. They're twins." And before I could say anything, Twin B whirled around and yelled, "STOP CALLING US THAT!" He thought the kid was calling them names. Oh boy. We had to have a talk about what twins are and that they are special. My boys never traded places. And no matter how hard they tried to be different from each other, they still ended up doing the same things: If they were picking a cereal in the morning and they were both in the kitchen at the same time, then they would pick different cereals, but if they came downstairs one at a time, they always ended up choosing the same cereal. We never forced anything on them. We never told them they had to wear the same clothes, although, sometimes (if they didn't see the other get dressed first) they would end up with similar outfits. WOW! that was a really long comment. Sorry. Again, Congratulations! And just trust your gut.

I kept adding more water on the same ginger as needed. The water tastes clean, pure in a way I can’t explain. It settled my stomach and gave me a little more energy. I hope this helps. My twins were born when my son was 23 months old- so I get it! 3 kids under 2 is hard, but a good hard. Here goes: 1- With all the bedrooms upstairs, we set up a diaper changing station downstairs, which was extremely helpful. 2- I know some have said feed 30 minutes apart, but we learned really quickly that the goal became to make sure to feed roughly around the same time. So if one wakes up in the middle of the night to feed, wake the other and feed also, otherwise they'll be tag teaming you constantly. 3- Same with naps- when one is sleepy- put them both down! 4- One tricky thing was when all 3 got sick and I was giving them tylenol or antibiotics. Keep a paper with their names and times and doses of what meds so you don't have to remember it all. I would just stick it on the fridge and it was easy to remember to write it down. 5- Buy one/Get one sales are the BEST with twins! Score! 6- We were able to block off one room of our house with an expandable baby gate that we used as the "baby room". They had all their toys in there and that's also where we put the diaper changing station for the downstairs. 7- This is a marathon, not a sprint, so enjoy it as much as humanly possible because there will come a day when you will miss having your arms so full! They will grow up, but enjoy the NOW. (mine just turned 15!)

The suggestion about the list for medications was spot on. As a nurse and a mother, I found out that when you have multiple people keeping an eye on the kids, even if it is all family that are nurses or have a medical background, you need to keep track of everything. So, the thermometers, and the medicine/fever charts with a pen attached were right by the bottles of medications with plenty of clean oral syringes and tube spoons in a cup nearby. That way everyone knew when which child got what, and what their fever was.

I had a set of twin boys when my daughter was 15 months old. When one twin wakes up, take care of him and wake the other one up to do him too. Otherwise you will never get any sleep. Only get one crib. Twins like to be touching each other and will cry if they are apart. Get everything done early. Twins are born 4-7 weeks early and may be in intensive care nursery for a while. Be prepared to come home without the babies at first. Sad, but they will soon be home. Mine were in separate sacs but are identicals. They will have a close bond for the rest of their lives. Feel free to email me if you need questions answered. Congrats!

Congratulations! I’m So excited for you to be joining the “Twin Life”!! Seriously, my first thought was “YES!! She’s going to make my life so much easier!!” My twins are 1. We have a boy & girl. My favorite things are anything that collapsed flat!! Walkers, baths, bouncers, high chairs ( ones that fit on seats that slide under tables instead of taking up space on the side). Right now we can’t live without our play yard!! It’s like a gate that can collapse. We did get the twin bassinet pack n play..that was great the first few months...but we didn’t use it very long. I invented (with the help of a friend) a mat that you just throw on the floor and it opens by itself, for those moments you don’t have two hands (or any hands..just a couple fingers😂). I’m excited to follow along! Praying for you guys!

Good morning. I want you to know I’m a fraternal twin. I have a brother and I’m his sister. One of the best advices I can give is to keep them together after the birth. They were created together and separating can be traumatic. They will sleep better for you. They will have a close bond, different from siblings, in general. One will be more outgoing than the other. One may speak more for the other. Don’t let teachers hold them back or separate them IF this is too difficult for them. I promise they will adjust and be able to be independent. ♥️

@anneharrison1849
@anneharrison1849 4 жыл бұрын
@@kellymary2444 You misunderstand (sorry, I was not clear), not being sick at all is fine, but being sick and it stopping before it would naturally stop (usually around 12 weeks, but whatever is normal for you) can be a sign that the baby has passed, but you have not naturally miscarried it and thus a scheduled scan will reveal a missed miscarriage. So I was saying that the fact she was sick and sick worse than usual and that it hadn't stopped was a good sign. I've had more than one friend who have had pregnancies where they stopped feeling sick earlier than in prior pregnancies, hoped that this meant that they were expecting the opposite gender, only to find at ultrasound that the baby had passed. My mum wasn't sick at all with her pregnancies which were both fine, unfortunately I didn't inherit this from her and just got sicker each time. If Jordan had said in the car I've been really sick but it stopped last week, then I'd have been worried.

I am so excited for you guys! I had twins my second pregnancy, monochorianic diamniotic boys. I didn't find out until my 20 week ultrasound because I was working with a midwife. I made it to 33 weeks, and we had 3 weeks in the NICU with minor issues. My advice is to do everything you can to keep them on a similar schedule and work together to make sure you get enough sleep and breaks. I did most of the parenting the first year on my own and it is all a blur. Ultimately you guys are excellent parents and you will figure out what works for you! My twins are 4 now and I have a blended family of 6 kids. Every day is an adventure and they keep me on my toes. I love your channel so much. Thank you for sharing your lives with us.

My tip would be to learn everything you can about having preemies and the NICU. I skipped that part of the book thinking it would never happen to me. I'm not saying that's going to happen to you at all, but just be prepared. And know that preemies do catch up developmentally, and even if they shouldn't, they're so capable of learning and loving that your heart will burst with every milestone. And Congratulations!

When it comes to choosing “twins” strollers, you have to decide if you want to get a WIDE(!) side-by-side for twins, or a front versus back, more narrow-type (which would fit through store aisles better, especially at department stores when you’re looking for clothing etc!) When I had my daughter, I would ask a mother with twins that I passed by at the mall “how do you decide who sits in the front and who sits in the back” of the front/back kind of strollers. (And the mother would ALWAYS say “whoever pulled whoever’s hair the last time, ~ that’s who sits in the front seat the next time!) Sheer genius!! 👍❤️ 💡 🙄 😲 😁!!

I was surprised to find out when we found out we were having our #6&7. I was blessed to go full term (40wks) and also homebirth my twins. They were 6 1/2 & 7 1/2pds at birth. They are now 4yrs old. We drive a Nissan NV and love it. My biggest tip is to keep them on the same schedule. I always tandem nursed the twins which can be a challenge in the beginning but was a huge blessing in the long run. Have fun, enjoy this super special pregnancy and rest as much as you can.

I just found your $25 a week video and you mentioned twins! So, I subscribed and hunted for more videos maybe showing an announcement and found a whole bunch of videos regarding shopping which I was looking for anyways but then I found this video!!!! I have twins! I had 2 kids and then twins. Two sacs, two placentas. doctors wouldn't know until born also. They looked ALOT alike. They can look a lot alike and still be fraternal. As they grew they became different so we didn't need to get the test done, def fraternal! one is short with hazel eyes and one is tall with blue eyes! They are now 4. my biggest suggestion is to buy ahead! Buy the sale clothes items out of season ahead!! So, in winter, buy the end of the season next sizes up for the following year and a few pieces a size bigger than that in case one grows beyond that size! in summer at the end of season buy up those next year sizes...etc. make sense?!!! My other advice is.....breathe! you got this! We are only given what we can handle! I was having them at 38-week cesarian planned. as I had 2 other cesarian prior. it was my only option with previous complications. They came about 2 days BEFORE their planned cesarian date!! If you end up having to go that route due to complications...it is okay! I had 3 and they were all different experiences. if that happens my advice for all 3 experiences...HAVE HELP AFTER BABIES ARE BORN. not just for the babies but for your youngest and then up from there. have back up help in case that falls through. I did not have back up help and was left alone to fend for myself with the two babies and two other kids when dad had to go back to work! I took extra long to recover. I hope you can continue your natural path because recovery is so much quicker but if for some reason it goes the other route! HAVE BACK UP!! cant say it enough! feed, naps, etc at the same time! I know it seems impossible but it is best for all parties! if you have to pump so one can bottle-feed while one drinks, do it. I was able to latch both at the same time on pillows under them for a while but my milk supply ran out. prior to that, I was pumping and I would feed one a bottle while one drank and then I would swap next feeding when I was alone. if you have help then they can help feed or help hold them up so they can drink at the same time! Please don't name them rhyming names especially if they end up being fraternal! It is fun to dress them the same as babies, but after about age 2.5-3 only for photos. They will take on their own identities and you don't want to force either to be one another. mine is going to be 5 next April and I am trying to decide if I want to do separate classrooms or the same. if anyone reading this has suggestions or went through either situation on schooling, please comment! would love to hear experiences or thoughts. thank you! My only other advice is once in the room if you do have to go cesarian route...have a plan with your husband. one of the twins "twinA" wasn't breathing so they had to whisk him away. I got to hold twin b immediately before they took him to weight. but I never met twinA until we got whisked to another hospital in ambulances. before that happened twin b while I was having skin to skin after feeding him for the first time...(may be why we are closer than twin a and myself are today) he than began to have breathing problems and he was whisked away also. we all met up at the other hospital where they got both kids under control but I couldn't go down until I was able to stand and walk on my own!!!!!!!! which wasn't easy after a cesarian. anyways, have a plan with your husband because mine disappeared and I was alone!!! I was so scared and I didn't know what was going on and they were sewing me back up and such....he had gone with to make sure our kids were with who and where they needed to be. smart man! meanwhile I'm laying there open and vulnerable. by my head was the anethstisiologist assuring me all is well but my husband could have bent down to say he was going to go with the babies! he just disappeared so if something happens....have a plan or a word so he can say it to you to know all is well and he's going with them. you hear too often babies getting switched or other horrible stories so I think he wanted to make sure twin a was okay! everyone is happy and healthy now. My daughter had the same issue so we had been through it prior as well. Don't want you to think it is something that will happen! more of a story to share for a make a plan with husband if something awry happens in natural or cesarian rather because he just disappeared! I mean, for HOURS! before we all got swept into separate ambulances. (id never been in one of those before either! I was alone with the nurse. was awkward!) anyways, oh, you know those cheap white diaper cloths... I used those as burp rags! or as oops we spilled some milk wipers, saved a fortune! later used them as dust rags until a friend had a baby and then I handed them off! congrats to all 10 of you!!! looking forward to watching them develop and thrive!

Aw man, watching this reminds me of my first ultrasound. Twins are 21 months now. The good thing is, they always have a companion and its the cutest thing watching them go through their milestones together--they will copy each other in just about anything, and if one learns something the other eventually follows. The difficult bit is, one of them is always going through something. Teething, sleep regressions, growth spurts...one after the other, its never ending. And oh boy, the fighting over stuff! It HAS gotten a lot better in the past few months though, but I feel that as a mom I got to enjoy my babies less because I am always so wound tight.
