In case you’re unaware, those items the rap teachers are giving you (the air pilot’s teeth, the distortion thingy, etc.) are in-game equipment-if you press the Select button (which I’m assuming is the Options button on the PS4 controller) you’ll cycle through each item you have, and it changes the sound of the guitar! Similarly, if you hold down L2 or R2 while playing, the guitar will be pitched lower or higher.

Fun Fact: In stage 5 “Power Off, Power On,” Chuck says in the EU and JP version, “Choppin’ trees down for fun.” But in the NA version it was changed to “Knowin’ that we’re here for fun.” If it wasn’t changed in the NA version ESRB would had rated it teen, probably because of plant abuse. So they changed it so ESRB would rate it everyone.
