I just bought this phone ( the 8/128g 2021 version) and it comes with android 11. So far it seems incredibly worth the money.

Do you know if it has video stabilization ? If you don't know, did you take any videos that got blurry when moving quickly, or walking? Great review - thanks for taking the time to make it !

Great review! Could you please tell me if you can see the screen with polarizes glasses? If you wear polarized glasse , it's impossible to see some lcd screens. Thank you very much

I sure hope unlocked smartphones don't get discontinued. Lucky my A71 connected with Metro very quick and easily. I prefer using an unlocked smartphone. Less bloatware and more options. But I could definitely see companies not allowing cheap unlocked smartphones on their networks.

Need to be using third party picture and video taking apps like hedgecam. Will solve the audio and video quality, and the focus issues.

I brought this phone to use in UK on virgin network and it says 4G but I have no Internet access anyone have any advice

I bought one of these, had it for a week. One bad point of this phone, is it's battery life, it's terrible. I have a Xiaomi a1, with android 9, with a smaller capacity battery, and it lasts much longer the the a9 pro 2021, even with battery saver on. My other criticism, is that there is no notification light, for when my phone is on "do not disturb" Otherwise, so far, so good. I can't figure out how to change the default save location, for photos, so they save to my SD card, or how to transfer my phone contacts from a file, but that's neither here, nor there. It seems good for the price, but the battery life definitely knocks it's rating down a few pegs. Hope this is helpful.

I have the 2020 A9Pro. it upgraded to OS 11 and it is toast. Wont connect to data, 3g calls only and anything to do with editing a APN is greyed out. What a mess

I love the A9 pro.. I have the Tecno spark 6 which has a h80 chip set 16mp camera but the A9pro has better camera and a not bad chip set h60..

I am buying this unit from Ali Express, listed as the 2021 variant, it will take a month to get to me. The description says it's running Android 11. Do you think this is accurate? Thanks.

@Ovie Iboyitie That's the one I'm getting. I don't have any experience with Umidigi product, so this will be new to me. I'm not expecting the quality of a $1000 phone, so I think I have an idea of what I'm getting into. I currently have a Xiaomi brand phone, and I'm happy with it.

Is this Umidigis best phone for 3021? If so that's sad. I loved the Umidigis S5 Pro last year. It was so much better than this A9 Pro. It looks like there is no S6 pro plans for 2021 from what I've read. I was hoping there would be. I still use me S5 Pro.

Carriers are trying to force people to buy their crappy phones rather than you buying the phones of your choice

I hear you and I don't like buying phones from my phone company Cricket Wireless. That's because they set their homepage on Google Chrome and it's not easy to get rid of either. Every time you want to look up anything by using Google Chrome you're put right on the Cricket Wireless website. You have open a new window before you can look up anything. I usually disable Google Chrome and download a different web browser just because of that.

Plus Cricket Wireless has a system app downloaded to their phones and if you don't disable it the app will download other apps without you knowing about it. You will only noticed there will be a new app that you didn't download from the Play Store when look at all of your apps on your phone.

That is so horrible! Here in Europe you can buy any phone you want and then choose any provider you like. Also we have great and cheap broadband internet almost everywhere. I used to think that USA is all for free market but it seems the consumers are being victim of big company monopolies. Maybe a good idea to socialize your system a bit over there? Big corporations seem to not really put the interests of the consumers first, maybe they need a little correcting by the government.

I'm sure its not AMOLED. If you want a AMOLED display I recommend the Umidigi X. I own it and never had a problem. Its only 720P but a great colorful display and on a screen so small the resolution fine. Also using 750P extends battery life. You will have to turn the brightness up all the way if using outdoors though. It has an in screen fingerprint sensor that works very well and a 48MP Samsung camera. The real kicker here is the phones color. I chose the black with a red streak. I get complimented on it all the time. Has a premium weighty feel to it as well.

@@gamerjc3877 thank you I have the umi X the speaker is not the worst in price range but not good as Xiaomi, other than that umidigi X and S3 pro that I have both are good phones it's just the speaker

Yo if you want a AMOLED get the Umidigi S5 Pro it has a 6.39" FHD 1080p AMOLED Display, in Display Fingerprint sensor, 256GB internal storage, SD Card slot expansion, 6GB RAM, Helio G90T Processor, Mali-G76 MC4 GPU, quad camera rear setup 48MP Main, 16MP Ultrawide, 5MP Depth, 5MP Macro, POP UP 16MP Selfie camera, NFC, 4680mAh battery, Android 10, and GSM Unlocked. I'm still using mine today.

@@mikiehill67 thanks I didn't know about the model I was hoping umidigi would have midrange with decent chipset , Please if you can let me know does it have a proprietary native call recorder options on the call dialer screen, It's such a great feature it helps to note keep instead of trying to remember what was said etc And lastly does it have a good speaker?

@@ahmd-mi9964 I don't know about the call recording. But the speaker isn't bad. It's pretty decent. I love the phone. It's on par with the old flagship Google Puxel 2XL. I had a Pixel 2XL before I got the S5 pro. The Pixel 2XL is now a mid ranger phone. The 2xl has the Snapdragon 835 CPU. The S5 Pro has the MediaTek Helio G90T CPU. The G90T cpu is a midranger gaming CPU. It is a little better than the Snapdragon 835 from the Puxel 2XL. Idk why I'm telling you all this my bad. I just like the S5 pro and would like to help people see how good it is. Just look it up yourself. It's a very underrated under marketed phone. Let me know what you think.

@@ojonimiidoko3646 respectfully, there was no A9 Pro in 2019. Just A5 Pro and A7 Pro. A9 Pro is 2020 phone.

Just beware that you will never get any software updates, whether Android OS or security patches....not good if you plan to keep it 2-3 years. There's also no customer support with Umidigi, so if something goes wrong it's not gonna get fixed.

At the price I purchased new ($125 for the 2021 8GB/128GB version) you will mostly get low res 720p screens....unbeatable price. Only used phones surpassed it.
