ChrisG definitely has the Best Morrigan in the world. Who else can you name that's using Morrigan whose won as much as he has over the past year? How many other Morrigans made Top-8 at Evo? It's "not" cheap when you consider Morrigan is one of the Hardest Executing characters in the game, "possibly" hardest. When you accumilate what ChrisG does to win, it's an Execution and Strategical Wonder. Most people can't appreciate his gameplay because they can't get past the fireball zoning, Sad.
@kameka22110 жыл бұрын
everyone saying that the morrigan fireball spam is cheap and easy should honestly try to do it in a tournament with the pros. Its no where as easy as you think, its one think to do a combo and its another to try to apply it

9:58 What Yipes is going on about, is ChrisG's match with Bubblan's (Zero/Vergil/Thor) team at RFD2013 UMVC3. Winners Bracket match which was cool to watch.

That machinery in ChrisG's head multiplies the alpha and omega brain waves letting him acquire a state of clear mind and high reflexes, allowing him to win every tournament at ease.

well... shit, now i just want Moons' videos to get me happier. Is there any more videos of Moons? i need my fix :(
Is a Zero on point part of Flocker's main team? His Zero seems to require more training, comparing this gameplay to the gameplay of PZ Mihe in Final Round 15.
@TheAmberFang11 жыл бұрын
That's like saying hitting headshots [with a non-automatic weapon] in a FPS is easy because all you do is point and click, when it's really more about positioning and predicting your opponent's movements, and perhaps more importantly, predicting how opponents will react to your presence. ChrisG doesn't just "soul fist spam." He uses the fireballs to control where and how his opponent can move and acts accordingly. I find it to be more dynamic than simply watching the same combo over and over.

Yep, I've definitely seen that since that's the one tournament I really like. Due to various reason (like Kurosu owns everyone). But thing like this barely happen anymore. D:

sorry, i misunderstood what you said. what you're saying is true but dormmamu can cancel his dark matter (forward heavy i think) which is a projectile into his teleports to make them pretty safe. combine that with missles and he's got a pretty good, safe rushdown option.

yeah it sucks having no suspense about who's gonna come out on top but there were some sick matches that i'm glad i watched like that sick rayray fchamp match
@EbonMaster11 жыл бұрын
Are you somehow implying that Flocker did that without lots of Morrigan practice? Or that he didnt get blown up by Chris' Morrigan when he messed up his soul fist inputs?

Not to mention that Yipes once commentated on his own match while he was playing it.

See I feel chris g is the most accomplished because he knows how to not limit himself to one play style. He knows when to play keepaway and when to rushdown. I hate when the community says hes all keepaway when that's so not the case. Im done.

There's a good reason why they haven't, because there is no way around it. This would get soft banned within a year, but Max also said the games most likely to get an upgrade would be sf4 and umvc3. And then, there was one.

Even Chris has demonstrated that the 3rd member of the team is pretty much up for grabs when he switched from Akuma to Vergil. Someone using Morrigan & Doom with Dormammu or Zero or Sentinel(?) could get results.

Rushdown. Footsies. Zoning. Style. Long ago, in a better edition, all four tactics lived in harmony. Then, everything changed when the Astral Vision attacked. A while ago, The Monsters and I discovered a new Avatar. An old timer named efforts. And although his manifestation still needs some work, I believe that effort can save the world.

Chris G's performances are based on a team that exploit the very worst of this game. Considering I've been following him since his teams used point and anchor Ryu and Ame, it's hysterical that you actually make a statement pronouncing his skill level as the absolute greatest in competition. The exact thing was said about Viscant by his followers, and then a patch came.
@bodybuilder71811 жыл бұрын
Everyone feels the same as well. Every time i play, 100 percent of the time, dante and vergil or doom are on the squad, gets cheesy, that's why i add those who use different characters to my friends list, more fun and more talent to see.

The rain of soulfists with flight cancel plus the doppelganger hyper. It was ChrisG that discovered that and made Morrigan op. So nobody can't really call him a scrubb for using Morrigan since it was him that created the tech, no matter how much it burns us -_-

This morrigan play reminds me of mvc2 and that chick who had 6 arms and could summon swords. When people did that sword spam and covered the refreshing with sentinel.

i agree, but u have to admit. All combofiend says when he commentates is "he should have done this" or "hes going to do this, pick him up" "How did he drop that combo?"

Only the Avatar mastered all characters. Only he could stop the ruthless ChrisG. But when the world needed him most, he vanished. A year has passed and ChrisG is nearing victory at EVO2013. Some people believe that the Avatar was never reborn, and that the cycle is broken. But I haven't lost hope. I still believe that somehow, the Avatar will return to save the FGC.

This man is a genius, and I have just the team to do it, he pulls in doom assist, I have level 3 charged buster from zero and ironman unibeam assist, and hopefully catch him in a heavy damage combo.
@sg-hunter11 жыл бұрын
the biggest problem is morrigan gets meter in astral. also vergil has like 3-4 levels of mixup with swords and you are in constant blockstun.
@Aurkus2311 жыл бұрын
Ahhh okay now I think I understand. I don't like the way he plays myself, I do remember the times of Ryu and Hawkeye, his skills are still undeniable. What I meant was he's the best right now, Chris G has been winning everything lately. The pros should of figured out this team by now, but still haven't. As for the patch, a guy I watch named Max says there aren't any patches planned for UMvC3 anytime soon.

@Noxalyz11 жыл бұрын
People hate ChrisG because they can't be mindless and mash the assist button while mashing 2 attack buttons. They got to think, and I guess not many people can think quick enough to match the speed of this game, which is why ChrisG wins so much. While they take time trying to think, ChrisG is playing the game in slow motion. He usually wins before we see he does.

because I've seen Champ using his Phoenix team more times than his Dorm team... In other words : he switches team !!! he's much more hype to watch, because Dormammu is much harder to keep alive that Morrigan. His teleports are really not safe, he must open his guard 3 times before releasing the meteorites, and you can't rush down with him like she does, even covered with Doom's missiles, he's harder to play.
@KinetiK00111 жыл бұрын
Fighting games are one of the only genres left that aren't casualized to shit. I might be elitist here but I used to be into other genres like FPS and music games but now those types of games are laughably easy as well. I don't have fun with easy-ass games, I play for the challenge, I guess that makes me "hardcore". If you play games just to pass time, that's cool. But don't punish the ones that want a challenge because you want to be "entertained". Tournaments matter, stream monsters don't.

Chris G is just a beast with that team. He's definitely tough to beat.
@Mad77max7711 жыл бұрын
I said : "rush down like she does" it's easier to rush with Morrigan because the opponent is in complete block state because of her Soul Fists, the other one coming from the Astral clone, and the Missiles... Dormammu can rush down, I know, but he has not as much cover as her to protect him, it's more risky, I respect that.
@jaklyman11 жыл бұрын
This match is a prime example of why the problem isn't Morrigan, Its Doom's Missile assist. So many times Flocker got in, just to get stopped by the missiles. And Happy B-daying Doom isn't an option with them coming back either way. Morrigan without Doom assist is beatable by good players, the two together is just too much. I like Yipes advice on ending early with a snapback too to avoid the missiles, considering the guessing game Zero is on incoming he should force Chris to play that game.
@zoidbergnoise11 жыл бұрын
I love how nowadays I don't even watch these damn tournaments. All I need to see is Chris G is in the top, I flip it to the end, notice he wins and I leave. I'm just too used to it.
@Darkpsyde21311 жыл бұрын
Everyone seems to keep focusing on Morrigan and her antics. I think Doom's assist is the real problem, and if people would focus more on sniping him or snapping Doom in and mixing him up that they'll have a much greater chance at defeating Chris and the MorriDoom shell in general. That may be easier said than done, but is it really very smart to waste all your time trying to avoid fireballs and missiles? Get rid of Doom and you no longer have to worry about catching a random missile on a confirm

Rapid flight into flight cancels with forward DP. Add in the fact that the other guy will be looking for any opportunity to cross you up, wake up super ect. If FChamp says that this takes skill then who are you to argue? (Hell he gave up after a few minutes of trying)

@Mad77max7711 жыл бұрын
you can't compare Dormammu, who needs 3 motions to charge, and 1 more to release projectiles (unavoidable, I agree), to Morrigan, who can put 2 projectiles (so it makes it 4 in Astral Vision) on screen at the same time ! Noticing the incredibly high durability of her projectiles... that's broken !
@Yokai_Yuri11 жыл бұрын
Being the best morrigan is not "about the combo" is about the usefulness of the character and making a strategy that maximizes the win potential. ChrisG found it with zoning and spaming and a LOT of people hate on that but what? It is his strategy and is working super fine for him so why would he change it? It makes no sense, so therefore he is the BEST morrigan player in the world.
@Stormy202111 жыл бұрын
i see what you mean, but playing the game and analyzing/picking it apart is different. it's like real sports such as nfl/nba/mlb, there are plenty of analysts and commentators that aren't great at the game, but they can damn sure pick it apart for the viewers.

Dude, that's like saying "Combofiend needs Spencer to play pro players" or "ClockW0rk needs Doom when he plays pro players" Or even "Justin Wong needs Wolverine to play against pro players". Just because someone uses their best character doesn't make them bad for it. Everyone will always have a character they are better with, and looking down on people who pick their best against the best is just foolish.

That isn't even close to a comparison toward this situation. In a 2D space where all you can do is move in a fixed pattern of directions, two of which are removed due to the reflect effect of morrigans super, it becomes insanely easy to catch any opponent. Someone with their eyes closed spamming the motions with jump variations could hit a target. He uses soul fist in the same way anyone else does: Spamming it from a distance and hoping it hits, chips, and runs the time out.
