Very cool! I have seen some people on other youtube videos hunting for vintage razors and they were selling some for $hundreds. Yes, besides cameras, I'm pretty knowledgeable in golf equipment, fishing/fly fishing, tennis gear, and audio gear. So will look for those at sales too!

The seller was really quite friendly and didn't seem to know what she had, so I didn't want to outright take advantage. Definitely not something I normally do, but hopefully karma comes back at some point? :)

I did the same thing last week. The seller dropped the price from $250 to $50 on a Nikon D90 / 18-200mm that didn't have the charger. I gave her $55 because the lens looked okay and I suspected the camera works be good too. It worked out well for me.

Ah yes, I've seen some car boot sale shows on PBS I think. Seems similar to the US version of swap meets and flea markets combined. I've definitely found that year by year, as the internet continues to saturate, the deals get a bit tougher and tougher to find. But there is still a good portion of the public (At least in the US) that can't or has no interest in selling items online and shipping them, so I suppose that's where I come in!

I see the A77 and A77ii a few times a year, indeed a great photographers camera, I've used a variety of Minolta lenses on the A77 and achieved some good results!

That’s not how crop factor works. All lenses are what they are printed on the lens. That means a crop factor is still applied. If it’s 50mm as an example it will be effectively a 75mm on the crop camera. The only thing that is designed specifically for the camera is the sensor coverage. Hypothetically if you could put that on a full frame it would be 50mm but with a heavy vignette because it’s designed to cover a crop sensor. That’s the positive and negative of a crop sensor of any size despite the lens being full frame or designed for that camera, there’s always going to be a crop. Hence the phrase crop sensor. Apsc is always multiplied by 1.5 or 1.6 depending on the brand. Just as a micro 4/3 sensor is a crop by 2 times.

Ummmmm that sounds like the score of the CENTURY. WOW! The NX1 is a phenomenal cam, the best camera that Samsung ever made IMO.

@pricklypearcamera9151 What was crazy is that they also had a finepix S1500 there for $60 because it could be charged and tested. They sold the NX1 "As Is" and untested since they didn't have a way to charge it. Turns out that the NX1 Micro-USB-B port can just as easily be charged with a standard Micro-USB cable. Glad they didn't figure that one out.

Hi @pokerlover16 ! Sorry to hear that your beloved SX120 is starting to have some problems. Very few if any current generation cams utilize AA batteries for power, so replacement wise, it's probably going to be a more "vintage" type point and shoot. If you like the SX120, perhaps take a look at the canon powershot SX160, it can be found in the US in the $50-80 range used generally. Pretty similar ergonomics, slightly smaller in the hand, adds some quicker shooting, 6 more MP sensor, bumps to 720P video vs standard of the SX120, and has a better optical zoom. Same family camera, so same processor, and similar in many other ways including menu functionality. Thanks for watching!

@@pricklypearcamera hiii! Oh thank you so much for replying! After doing tons of research that's what I ended up getting :). I ordered the sx160,, it hasn't come yet though.. I found a few on eBay finally but the ones that were in the $80 price range, looked very used and like they took a lot of wear and tear. I actually found one lady who had the red one of that camera, that was still new in the box with all of the accessories, manual cord, straps. Software etc. She said it was never used and was still knew because she bought a bunch of cameras when Fry's Electronics when out of business and was closing and she just noticed she had one of those. She's never tried it LOL but she said it was brand new never used she gave me the serial number and everything. It should be coming in about 5 days. She also gave me 14 days to return it if it doesn't work right in any way and I can get a refund.. she wouldn't budge on the price but I really wanted it.. and those are hard to come by in excellent condition. So I paid $195 with free shipping.. will be worth it to me if it's like my other one only a little better and if it's brand new and works great I will be happy.lol. I'm so impressed that you actually answered me thank you so so much I'll let you know how I like it when it comes.. you said it was a little smaller in the hand.. I guess that's okay but I liked the good grip on my sx120 but if this 160, still has that little grippy thing in the front where you can rest the fingers of your right hand then it should be okay. I have very picky and not in great shape hands that was why I really liked the 120 but hopefully this one will be very similar and I can still hold it steady good!

@@pricklypearcamera hello again the camera came the sx160 on the positive side it was brand new in the box never used and it works great. On the negative side, it really hurts my hands as I suffer from some trigger thumb and problems up my inside of my thumb and up my forearm I was better for the last 2 years and now trying to use this camera it's hurting me really bad :-( because as you said it's slightly smaller and thinner and it doesn't give me the same kind of grip or place to rest the front of my fingers and the thumb on the back side because it's thinner the camera. I'm really sad because it works really good I only have 2 weeks from today if I want to return it on ebay. I was wondering if you have any suggestions how I can maybe make the grip or something be a little better so I don't strain my phone and the inner side of my wrist I thought about gloves of some kind, but the camera would still be thin and small and I would still have to move my hand and my thumb in that weird way. It's too bad there's no kind of case to go around the outside of the camera only or something that would make it just a tiny little bit thicker? If you have any help or suggestions because you know so much, I would be so grateful as I only have till the 21st if I want to return this camera my old sx120 it's so great in my hand and my thumbs and gives me a lot of support. If I had to return this one I just don't know which one I would get at all then I would have to go to the newer models and I'm not familiar with those. Any suggestions you have I would so appreciate it if you happen to see this thank you so very much I'm sad now cuz the camera works so well but it's killing my hands

@@pricklypearcamera in case you happen to see this I'm wondering if you have any other recommendations I don't think this sx160 is going to work for me aside from being smaller and harder to hold. The bigger problem is it's very slow camera and slow lens. I think you said it should have quicker shooting so I don't know if there's something wrong with this one but even if it's super bright outside, and I'm fixing my settings it's still having the shutter stay open for about two full seconds no matter how I set the camera so you have to stay still for much longer and it gets blurry if you don't and this is even out in bright day. So I don't know why it's doing that but every shot I will take is going to be blurry or else I have to stay stay totally still for 2 to 3 seconds and it's not even evening time my old sx120 was fast and would snap the picture right away I didn't have to stay still like that unless it was almost later evening time. So I was wondering if you have any other model recommendations at all cuz now I'm going to have to see if the lady from eBay she said I had 14 days I'm probably going to have to return this one so I was just wondering what you thought? Thank you so much for the help

Just wanted to clarify, would he need something waterproof; is he taking any photos in/underwater?

@@pricklypearcamera no it just for a project. He works for a water district and they monitor springs and ground water withdrawals. He wanted something you can take photos of well from about 200 yards he can link in gps data. These wells are often on fenced property.
