8th and 9th boxes from the largest order I've done in a while, a $2,000 order of untested camera equipment. Weighs in at over 300 pounds with 14 boxes to go through. This is the FIFTH video in a multi-part series to go over cameras/camcorders and lenses in this lot, test everything, see what works, and assign a value. The 9th box in particular holds some outstanding finds! Tons of unique digicams, 35mm compact film cameras, 35MM SLR Cameras, camcorders, and DSLR cameras. It includes brands like Nikon, Sony, Canon, Fujifilm, Pentax, Kodak, GE, Polaroid, Panasonic, Minolta, and many more. Recycling and bringing cameras back to life, as well as making some profit along the way is what I'm after!

The Canon AE-1 was the first camera I bought myself in 2006. I took a photography course and was the only person in the room with a film camera. Still have it and use it! Thanks for your awesome content Kevin. You’ve helped me during a really rough period of life. I appreciate your genuine personality and passion for cameras (which I share).

Thanks for watching my videos, and for your heartfelt comment, that really means a lot! I hadn't really shared it on my channel, but my wife was diagnosed with stage 3 cancer almost 4 years ago and went through the ringer with chemo, radiation, and surgery, and is now recovered and doing well. But that entire 2+ year period was easily the hardest time in my life. The not knowing and sleepless nights were brutal. I am so happy it sounds like you are doing well! I just try to take it one day a time now and see the beauty in this life that we all live.

Also, and once again, the red Olympus Tough camera you tested. I found one of the same model in blue in a thrift store and bought it, absolutely pristine. I don't think it was ever used much. Works perfectly. Always a hoot when you find a camera that I had or have as well. Keep up the good work!

My first real camera was the Canon AE1 Program. I bought it with the 50mm lens while in Germany from the PX on post to use for touring around Europe. Paris, London, and all over Germany. I also used it on my next tour in Germany. I was in the US Army. I got many great photos with it. In Paris I got many photos from the Louvre museum. It worked great for low light. No flash is allowed in many museums. I saw a guy take a picture with flash and he was tackled by a guard. When they looked at my AE1, I said “no flash.” The guard gave me a thumbs up. I still have all the boxes. ❤

At the 10:20 mark you pop out the AE-1 Program. Love it! Mine is not for sale.🙃 Rock solid body, and easy to use. It's only weakness is the battery door can break. You mentioned picture quality, and in film, as long as the camera gets exposure right, image quality=film quality + lens quality, and Canon's FD lenses are suhweet😁

I gave my dad’s AE-1 Program, 2 lenses, flash etc away after he passed away, at the time I thought I didn’t want to keep it and didn’t want to deal with selling it. I have been regretting it more and more as time passes! I’m currently using an FD 50mm and Canon Auto Bellows adapted to my 5DII to scan all my dad’s slides and some of the negatives of the prints that are of interest to me. I had to buy the FD 50 after giving dad’s away! 🙄

Had an AE1 Program when film was still within reach of mere mortals. I was more a fan of the FD lenses in general than the camera itself but the AE1 is still a very solid choice for beginners and seasoned photographers alike. I ended up getting a Nikon FE to replace the AE1, which I still have and run a roll through now and then. The Nikon to me feels a little less "consumer-y" and slightly more robust, but both cameras do about equally well shooting photos. These days I mostly shoot digital and Instax for when I need a film fix and that combo serves me well.

I really like these Canon camera’s! Got the A-1(2x) AE-1(3x), AE-1 program and F-1 new. Great camera’s and use fairly cheap batteries (4LR44 (in one or 4 LR44 batteries for €2). Only problem I have had is the slow mirror, is quite common but an fairly fix. Love the FD glass, especially the 50mm f1.4! For a fully manual model I would go for the FTl QL which is very solid! Also keep an eye out for the S.S.C lenses, they are worth way more than the normal lenses!

The Kodak VR models are made by Chinon, the K12 and K14 are Chinon Auto 2001 with a different body. The original Kodak battery is an odd one, but it also uses a regular 9V battery like a smoke detector. Enjoying the channel, keep it up!

This reminds me that I have to clean out my cellar. I am still waiting for you to find an Epson PhotoPC camera, from 1995 or so. It was my first digital, it looks like a toy but I took a lot of photos with it, 20 at a time to fill the memory card before I went on to the Fuji FinePix MX-700. On trips, I would take a laptop so I could empty the card every day. It never occurred to me to buy a second memory card.
@pricklypearcamera

Epson PhotoPC for the nostalgia win! I do get some Epson's occasionally. It's amazing how easy it's gotten to take pictures now compared to the relative complexity of yesteryear with small memory card sizes, no video capability, poor battery life, etc.

I saw this trick on KZfaq somebody from another country that I wasn't familiar with showed this trick on a Sony pocket camera. I had just purchased a Panasonic and the buttons weren't working. I do have some mainstay cameras that I have pulled out of lots like the Fujifilm X20, which is a great little camera. I also regularly use a Panasonic Gh4 M4/3 camera that also came from a lot. But in general, I will use a variety of cameras prior to listing them for sale, so I kind of treat my inventory for personal use as a camera rental shop with no fees! So If I need a telephoto Fuji lens for my Fujifilm X-T30, I could pull one out of my inventory, use it for a few days, and then re-list it.

The AE-1P uses a 4LR44, or if you happen to have 4 pcs of the LR44 watch batteries lying around, you could put those together and add a bit of foil or some battery terminal metal that you can get from your non functional cameras to fill in the space. One of my first film cameras, thanks to my parents, who was able to get a 3 lens set. The program mode made things easier, but also made me lazier. My body is no longer working. Loved using the lenses with my m43 bodies however.

Sony Mavicas are very much sought after by the digicam crowd for being able to make pictures that look distinctly 1998. The Canon AE-1 is kind of a better than great starter camera. Recent prices reflect this. Always make sure they are in good working order, though, that's certainly not guaranteed!. Quite reliable and at least in europe there are some places that service them. FD glass is great too.

I just did a quick check, same optical zoom of 3x, but the Z330 is a 12mp and the EX-S5 is a 10mp, but otherwise, specs look the same. I've had the EOS M50 II for several years now and was my primary for shooting eBay pics. Great camera, only disadvantage is that tmk Canon isn't continuing the EF-M mount lens series as they have been moving towards the Canon RF

Video @ 11:28 "I don't see any haze or mold" - Testing & servicing lenses for a living, micro misting fog/haze can only be seen with a BRILLIANT light shinning through the wide-open optic. - Think about how your car's windshield looks clean, until the time of day where the direct & blinding sun reveals how truly 'dirty' your windshield is... Plus, on the (plastic) Canon bayonet lenses (not the breech-lock versions), you'll need the aperture to be wide open for the 'Flashlight Test'. A simple method is to mount the lens on a camera (set camera on BULB to see through the body & lens).

The Canon AE-1 can be a very high value camera, check out it aint got any battery related esp and bare in mind early Jap electronics were not the best. A friend gave me one, needs new light seels but other than that should be fit for film. One thing I hate is having to use the batteries to even power it up, where as my old fave the Zenit B or E never neede batteries and never once let me down.
