This is another and another reason why the guards and the horses need to be behind a barriers. Just way to many stupid, stupid people out there.... irresponsible and oblivious to the danger this imposes..look and take pictures from the bollards....no need to stand beside them...

I am horse guards watcher in everyday of my life, not an expert of Horse gesture, but through God's will power once the horse become agitated or wild they smell something bad that irritates their smelling. their senses stronger than a human being no matter how far or near, as well the vision they can see no matter how far or near they can feel the worst to come they become wild especially when they sense an evil terrorist around the crowd they want to attack them, but under control of the horse handler or they want to escape from danger.

Horses cannot see far. That is part of why they are so spooky, because they sense danger but cannot see far into the distance to find the danger.

Horses often “chomp at the bit”, it doesn’t mean anything is wrong with the bit or the bridle.

@@SongMom8 Wrong. The British horse guards use very harsh curb bits. At my stable we use "soft" snaffle bits.
