If you need to clean a laminate floor, we can show you. If you want to see the grossest floor ever look brand new again, we can show you that too. This floor hasn't been mopped in over a decade. It was covered in grease and dirt. NO kitchen floor should ever look like that.
It took a little trial and error but we made it clean again. A few things that made this extreme cleaning job easier? My O-Cedar mop and Easy-Off, fume-free, of course.

Great job! I have one suggestion to anyone reading this: Please don't rinse the grease down the sink. Grease will build up in your pipes and septic system and the formations of fatbergs (like icebergs) will damage your pipes. It is very expensive to fix the plumbing. It's best to just throw the greasy wipes away instead of rinsing it down the drain.

My son used to make bacon every day. Then he would dump the grease down the kitchen drain! Can you imagine? Yup within months the drain was backed up. My dad owned the house and was renting it to two of my three sons ( the youngest was still in high school). Luckily my two older sons’ dad was a plumber and was able to clean the drain. Thank goodness. But what a mess! My oldest son no longer puts grease down the drain. 🤨

Luckily, the active ingredient in drain cleaner is sodium hydroxide.... same as oven cleaner. Doubt those pipes will clog since the sodium hydroxide dissolved that old grease so it can be washed away never to offend again.

After 2 years of major depression I finally felt well enough to get my house in order. I hadn’t cleaned that entire time. My house was filthy and I was embarrassed. I found an amazing woman who got my house looking beautiful again. She was compassionate and empathetic. She didn’t say it was disgusting and gross. She didn’t say she wanted to gag. She treated me with such respect and dignity. Typically when a home is this bad, mental health issues are involved. Try coming from a place of compassion when describing how the job made you feel.

Thank u for this comment. I have chronic depression & I go through times I just can't clean. It takes way too much effort. Even loading dishes in the dishwasher seems an impossible task. It's so hard to explain this to some people. I literally physically can't make myself do what needs to be done. Thank you for speaking out. I'm super embarrassed at times about my house. I'm feeling some better & in the process of deep cleaning. I have thought about hiring someone to help but I'm too embarrassed. I think though this might be the best thing. Ty again, no one understands if they haven't been through it 💕

This is the most important comment on this video. THIS is the problem here. We do not do our sons any favors by “shielding” and “protecting” them from cleaning responsibilities while they are growing up in our homes. You are setting them up for unhappiness and potentially misery - like here in this video - by using misogynistic practices in our homes. We need to love our sons enough to make certain they know how to clean and get plenty of practice doing it.

Thank you for not shaming this gentleman too much. Having been widowed 12yrs ago, few understand the crippling downward spiral of depression that can accompany loss which becomes compounded by guilt and shame. I won't get into details, only to say that my house was quite similar to this man's house, if not worse for having three dogs filling the black void. My outdoor living space and my public image was that I was fastidious and overly organized so one suspected. I could not bring myself to ask anyone for help ... but secretly prayed for someone to save me from myself. Do yourself a favor, folks. One crucial cleaner she did not test is vinegar. The only cleaning products I have in my house are vinegar, ammonia and I occasionally will resort to bleach. Choices like this I largely attribute to not being on a single medication at 60. But distilled white vinegar is amazing in its versatility, speed and efficiency and the vinegar smell lasts for only a short period; not even a day. And, yes, LOVE me my OCedar Spin Mop!

What a true blessing you and your husband are to your family member! You put in so many hours of hard work and Gifted that person beyond measure. I was thinking of a couple things to expedite the job.. I wondered if using a large scraper to get the worst of the grease off wouldn't help Make the job go quicker and then to scrape it into an old food container of some type and just throw it in the trash. I was concerned that all the grease going down the drain might clog up the pipes. Hopefully they were remained and clog- free. I Realize this is an older video, but maybe it will help someone who is reading it now. This was such a great idea to help someone Looking to bless a person in their life! Thanks so much 😇

My mom was a clean freak. I became a clean freak. I could NEVER understand how any human being could live this way. My oldest son is a complete slob and I have been frustrated with how he has kept his room for years (We live together). What I discovered is that he actually LIKES being in a cleaner space but doesn't know how to go about it. He has tolerated my deep cleaning of his room which usually takes a full day. I also had an Aunt who lived this way. She would put on clothing and makeup immaculately but lived in waist high filth. I just can't wrap my mind around some of that. It takes a great deal of compassion to serve someone in this way. Bless you for doing this for this man.

This is a great video and help for someone who is facing years worth of grime. I was an in home caregiver to several clients and in no way, shape or form was it my job to clean those messes but I did anyway to make a difference in how they had to live . I figured I was there anyway for a certain time span that I would make the most of it and it made time pass fast anyway so I would find myself doing jobs like this over and over. I don't do this as often as I'm prompted to, but I have at times thought about what I could do for someone that would just delight them, lift their spirits..totally unexpected. I've done the same but unfortunately family members would come visit and remark how clean everything is then start to badmouth the other caregivers for not cleaning. Suggestion: use a tarp when you need to cover a large area, instead of the multiple pieces of Saran Wrap. Also, borax and hot water works well to bring back the original color of vinyl flooring (after getting the grease up), in my experience.

@@marshakott1574 You get rolls of real wide, thin plastic mesnt for covering floors when painting etc. It’s cheap too. I think I paid the equivalent of $2.99 the last time I bought a roll.
