Popular legend is that the term 'bug' roots from ENIAC and there being actual bugs (moths to be specific) inside the thing causing problems. The issue is the term seems to predate that recorded instance so who actually knows

The reason many ancient religions are similar is because the people were trying to explain the same natural phenomena with gods being responsible for them, lightning, volcano, tide, etc. all of these were because of gods, so it's inevitable that identical things got similar gods.

The term bug is from a moth that got stuck in a computer in the 50s/60s that caused problems.

Shrub is 1 per turn a plus a flat "5 per House in its area" not flat "5". So the instant bonus is for being next to your settlement.

The earliest know use of the term "bug" referring to an engineering defect is from a letter by Thomas Edison from 1878, and it was about an actual insect - but the way he used it (in a reply to another letter) suggests that it was used even earlier.
