So cute. I have the original purchased when they changed, so I paid less than 1/2 price. I then bought the display case with the cash register with the deserts to add to it. I think I would use LED lights to light it up. For the prices I paid I can't complain. Now I need the juke box. I also bought some OG accessories to make milk shakes. So for me a win win but I love love what you are doing with the sets. If I bought now I would get the newer version as I like that the booth can move around and that it lights up and the top sign spins! How cool.

I had NO IDEA that the two sets were so different! Really fascinating overview. I have no intention of ever getting this set (I have limited room, so I just can't get all the sets), but it is a genuinely cool piece, with great play value. The working bell is so cute, I also love that the dollars are double sided after you mentioned wishing they were 😂 I never read the instructions either, I loved that you crumbled them up 🤭 I definitely like the newer one better, your displays are so cool!! 🫶🏻

Oh my goodness. I just fell in love with this whole set. And I want it. I just finished getting Courtney's whole collection and now you showed this set and I am so in love. I'm gonna have to pick it up. You are getting me in trouble. LOL.

Love the comparison between the two sets! Having both for the different diner seating is totally worth it (plus extra food, always a bonus). I’d love to see the evolution of this display. When you showed both diners dude by side, I thought to myself, he’s gonna move that wall over to the new one. I was just as disappointed as you that it didn’t work. I hope you can find a solution (maybe swap both right walls?). Great video. I love watching your videos and hearing your stories.

Fun video! That’s a great set to have because kids from different decades could be hanging out at a diner. I don’t know Mary Ellen‘s story, but as you identify the food, I’m laughing, imagining a little girl working in a diner bringing me food that I don’t quite recognize 😂 like when my friends’ kids make them Mother’s Day breakfast and it’s kinda a mess 😂 then I laughed at my own stereotypes, because right after the booklet said this set was for girls, you said how you never read the directions and that definitely a guy thing. 😁 thank you for sharing!

I have been lucky that the two things I had to put together recently were easy to put together. Normally, I'm struggling and cursing when I put things together.

Thanks for the great video! Love the set, but if I ever got any of it, I like the bakery section the best. Also, warning, long comment coming…. 😂When you mentioned the note from American Girl, “entertaining girls for over 30 years,” you made me think back to a couple memories related to that. I think there’s either a double standard with boys vs. girls, relating to toys, unless I was just lucky to have non-judgmental friends as a kid. First memory: when my family and I went to a get together years ago, my son brought a “Caillou” doll, from that show. A 12, 13 year old boy came up to us and said, “why do you have a doll? Why does HE have a doll?” I looked at him, and with an equally rude tone to my voice said, “he’s three.” As opposed to when I was a kid, in elementary school, out of all my friends, I was the only one with a Spider-Man sleeping bag, who pretended to be Superman inside my house, and collected transformers and baseball cards. (I also liked/like dolls and stuffed animals.). Anyway, none of my friends said anything to me about it. I was just me. Again, sorry for the long comment. I think dolls and stuffed animals help comfort kids, and people, and also teach compassion. Nothing wrong with girls, or boys, being compassionate. Maybe I should have made this a video, instead of rambling on in your comment section.😂. Anyway, keep doing what you’re doing! I love your videos!

You make people want to buy these sets and make these displays. I am envious. I do not have the room for that so I'll have to admire yours. Only thing I'd change is to maybe put an aisle between the booth and the telephone as it would be awkward for the dolls to make a call. They'd have to lean over someone's food. That would be rude ! Maybe when it's all set up the way you want you can do that ? It'll be nice to see when you finally find the room for this set and have it all figured out. P.S. You'd think AG would stop using "girl" and substitute the word "kid" to be more conclusive.
