Axis lock should have been orange

I’m trying to take a break from buying knives, but I think I’ll make an exception for this one. I’ll quit after just one more……

I love this knife. For me it is a completely all around better knife than the Bugout 535-3 which is a great knife itself. I can't imagine anyone not liking this knife in person unless the dayglo orange cerakote is just a deal breaker, which is completely understandable. I bought two 2023 Benchmades this year, this and the Narrows. I won't say I regret buying the Narrows but if I had to choose between the two I would pick this before you ended the sentence.

I can’t get over the backspacer dosent match the blade. Gotta love benchmade

At this point I'm sure we all know where to get blacked out replacement parts. 🤙🏼 Gonna cost a little more though.

I’m a big fan of the new patch design. Also really like this knife… Had it in hand earlier this week at the local dealer and I should have carried it home. Would prefer to have the thumbstud over the pill hole. I agree that the crossbar lock needed to go black. Definitely going to pick one up soon. Thanks for another great review! #dskfs #sundayfunday

You’d be surprised when you got an animal down it’s easy to misplace something.. you often set the knife down to reposition the animal ect.. the orange will def make it easy to locate if needed😊 my favorite model rn.. thanks for the review 😊

I have the original one and want to find a different set of scales for it. I like the older patch design. As far as price, I think Benchmade is higher priced than other American companies with compreble knives. Example is the Microtech MSI its larger than most of Benchmades edc knives but the cost with plain edge M390MK is less than $200.

Only thing I don't like about the S45 version is the location of the thumb studs - should be a little further back towards the scales .

I really like that patch. I really do like that blade, I wish it had a flipper. but it is a very cool knife overall.

Held off when first release. Yeah, the slot is small so thumb stud preferred unless is like a 550 or 555 hole. Waiting for a deal for the CF one. Rocking that Halloween flavor with a little class. Thanks for sharing sir.👍

Looks great but my only issue is I love a thumb stud on my knives. I’d like to see someone swap the blade and cross bar with the g10 model. *hint for Saturday knife live 😉

Do you prefer this one with the magnacut and an opening hole, over the one with the thumb stud?

I like the new patch and the taggout, but hate the color orange.The blade would look better black. I would like a special model with the blade and back spacer in Benchmade blue.

Idk why Benchmade puts satin Axis locks on knives with no other satin on them. Getting a new Axis lock color was the first thing I did when I got my FDE Griptilian.

That is pretty. Like the CPM Magnacut.

I wish they would have matched the spacer orange to the blade. I realize one is anodized and blade coated but still...bugs me. They could have also anodized the lock studs. If those issues were resolved, I'd buy one today. Still an excellent knife and worth the $$$.

I can't for the life of me figure out why when they put this one together someone didn't say "this needs a black Axis lock"! Blows me away they could have created a masterpiece... That little detail is a deal breaker for me. Really cool knife.. Could have nailed it if anyone at Benchmade opened their eyes SMH

It’s a great looking knife. But I won’t spend any more money with benchmade. They really are proving themselves out of the competition with a lot of their line. The new flytanium arcade is going to make the bugout obsolete given what you get for the same price or less than the bugout. The deka v2 took a massive dump on the bugout and the arcade is that final nail in the coffin. BM’s otf’s have always been trash, the narrows is just an absolute fail at their price considering they are in hinderer and crk territory and it didn’t even come close to competing. If BM gets their pricing back in check, they will regain a lot of customers. Even $337 for this is a bit high. I got my base 940 on sale for $125 which was a great steal of a deal and it’s amazing with ti rockscale scales. B but it’s the only knife from them that I’ve kept in the collection. When you spend $300 on something from reate, we knives, kunwu, etc, you get waaaaay more for your money.

Stonewash blade with an orange thumb stud would be my preference. Not too sure about the logo, I'm leaning more towards the old version. The price is definitely too high but is understandable because they smoke a lot of weed in Oregon and it might be affecting their common sense thinking 😵‍💫

Remember folks: Benchmades are expensive because they make ZERO knives off-shore and, therefore, can't subsidize the cost of USA-made knives like other big brands. Supply, demand, and basic economics 😄 Halloween version. Dig it 🎃 But I think I'd rather see orange accents like the EDC version of the Taggedout vs a fully orange-coated blade. Definitely has a nice contrast to it with those colors, though! Would've been nice to see the lock bar ano'd in orange, but I have no doubt plenty of folks will stick an aftermarket one on there to match! I guess if someone owns multiple (like you) they can swap that blade around on the original so they can have a fully orange knife! Haha. That'd be kinda sweet looking! OD green version is still my fav ❤ Price does seem pretty fair all things considered. But ya just know people can wait to snag a sick deal on the secondary market after someone buys one and decides it wasn't for them 😁

Flytanium sells a titanium axis lock for the taggedout

I'm willing to bet they didn't heat treat high enough to really bring out magnacuts full potential. Montana Knife Co. is killing it with the magnacut. I personally wouldn't use this for hunt. Guts and blood get jammed in and all over the axis lock etc. anyways. So the pill hole doesn't really make a whole lot of sense.

What's the point of coating magnacut?

I hate how Benchmade is coating all the Magnacut. They know we want stonewash or satin, but they have to do this kind of stuff to annoy people. I want to be clear, I love Benchmade and own 20 of them, but they only release I liked this year is the full Immunity. Also, no way this knife should be more than $300. Their pricing isn't good, but no USA pricing is, with the exception of Kershaw.

Why does it have to be an orange blade. I'd buy one right now otherwise

You could probably just get benchmade thumbstuds and put them through the pill hole. That's what I'm planning on doing to mine.
