Wow… I can’t believe the unboxing on the Q3 is sooo much better than the M11. Isn’t that their flagship camera?! Seems like Leica is sleeping on the job man. Enjoy the Q3! Excited to see what you think!

I know, right?! The Q3's unboxing experience is truly impressive, and it's surprising how Leica didn't give the same love to their flagship M11. Let's hope they wake up soon and step up their game.

I don't have an M11 anymore, and I don't have high hopes that the M11-P represents a significant improvement. The new certification feature is cool, but since I don't work for the press, I think I can do without it. ✌️

Hi, just received my new Q3 and I got the same bad shaking sound coming from the lens maybe. Anyone got any clues?

Hey, that should be the optical image stabilization of the lens causing this noise. In a spot where I examine the camera more closely, I give the camera a little shake, and you can hear the noise. If it sounds the same, everything should be okay with your Q3.

I hate to say it but YES, the M11 and even the flagship M11 Monochrom have the… as you said, Fuk You, unboxing experience. After spending $18k for body lens and accessories I must confess I was extremely underwhelmed to see that Leica packaged their flagship like a toaster. That said, the M11 Monochrom is nonetheless my favorite camera by a country mile. FYI: I preordered the Q3 and had it for awhile, but didn’t love it… so it’s gone. Hopefully you enjoy the Q3 more than I did.

Oh, I totally feel you on the unboxing experience! My M11 is also the most fun camera I've ever had I just wish Leica wouldn't come up with so many bugs and inconsistencies and ruin their reputation so much. ' I had a shoot with the Q3 yesterday and it feels like a Fuji with slightly better build quality. 28mm is not my cup of tea so far.

I’m thinking you’re gonna be missing your M11. Honestly, I will need a color variant, so I’m considering just waiting for the M11-P . It is rumored to sport the larger internal memory of the M11M.

Unboxing experience so good to see for Leica Q series(Q2 & Q3), more than any Leica Camera that i knew (Leica M11 & Leica SL)

Oh, absolutely. Unboxing a Leica Q2 or Q3 is like unrwapping a treasure. far beyond the underwhelming unboxing thrill of Leica M11 or SL.

Well, to be fair, my M-A, as well as my MP, came in exactly the same shelf box as your Q3. Wonder why they skimped out with the M11 🤔

I did a little research and found that since the Leica M 240, all M models have come with the shelf. I think that covid simply caused delivery problems, but I think that for a company like Leica, there should be no such excuses.

The camera Q3 has been launched over 2 months. There are so many unbox video on KZfaq already. If you will make a video comparison image quality, dynamic range and low light noise, it will be the first video on KZfaq. And If you have lens Summicrong 28mm f2, it will be perfect. I am looking forward the next video clip in your channel.

Yeah, I'm trying my best to implement the review as quickly as possible. However, it also takes some time to test everything thoroughly and to form a balanced impression. I don't want the excitement of a new camera to cloud my assessment. Unfortunately, I don't have a 28mm Summicron. However, I can already tell you that the Q glass is better if we can trust the MTF charts.

yeah, i don't think that works at all. Since the Leica M240, the M cameras have been delivered in a shelf just like the Q cameras. For a company like Leica, this is not acceptable at all.

I'll take a toaster that makes proper toast any day of the week. Unboxing is ridiculous. I don't keep the box. I keep the camera.

Yeah, one naturally keeps the camera, but I'm the type of person who also keeps all the original packaging of things that I might potentially resell. The other aspect is also that a product like a Leica is packaged appropriately for its price and its target audience. Let's take the Hasselblad X2D, which is also packaged more simply, yet it still maintains more consistency in its overall concept.

Haha, good luck with the buyer search. I don't think it will take long, considering how much in demand it is right now. By the way, I'll also be happy to get my M11 back. 28mm is not my favorite focal length.

I always wonder if - in about 30 years time - these cameras will be valued collector's items like today's vintage Leicas or just basically old tech nobody cares for.

I can't help but wonder about that too! In 30 years, it could go either way. If the Q3 and M11 become iconic in the photography world, they might indeed become valued collector's items like vintage Leicas. However, if technology advances rapidly and newer cameras steal the spotlight, they might just end up as nostalgic relics of the past with limited interest from collectors. Time will tell!

It's not that easy. All Leica M models since the M240 have been on the shelf. All Leica Q models come on a shelf. The fact that the M11 didn't come on a shelf is certainly due to delivery difficulties because of COVID. But as a consumer, I don't really mind, because the expectations for a premium camera start with the box. Leica simply omitted the box, even though it was probably already included in the price

Of course, I don't take better photos just because the packaging is more elaborate. However, that's not the point at all. Every expensive Leica for more than a decade comes in this darn box. So, if you buy the most expensive full-frame camera Leica has ever made and it's packaged so carelessly, you're disappointed because you didn't get the expected experience. It's like booking a hotel room with a sea view and then getting a view of the parking lot when you actually arrive.
