Fantastic watch. This brand is so underrated.

The simplicity of the watch is so classy, the execution so superb....timeless beauty, the glass back reveals the high class precision regulator for the balance spring, Geneve stripe decoration and the screwed in chattons... And yes that box is a piece of art itself... just look at the joints & hinges....as you say, you can use it as a desk clock... may you be happy with this watch.....

I also own a Cal. 99.1M. I went with the solid sterling silver dial. such a beautiful time piece. Amount of hand work put into a D&S movement is unreal. One of the most beautifully decorated movement out there. congrats and wear it in the best of health!

This is a wonderful company and a beautiful watch, congratulations on looking outside the horological box and going for this brand over more well known ones. There is so much quality out there at excellent prices such as this over more prosaic mainstream watches. If I did not own my very similar looking hand made in Canada Archer Sterling (Sterling in reference to the frosted Sterling silver dial) I would be very tempted by this. I can highly recommend going for a dark blue croc or aligator strap, it goes really well with the silver dial and blued hands!

Congratulations on your new watch. I ordered the Big Date with a Salmon dial and raised numerals. The mockup was fantastic. However the wait is till next Feb. or March 2022. A long wait yes but no longer than a Rolex steel watch and I will know I will be getting it unlike the Rolex.

I also got a custom made 99.1 with ceramic dial, It is a friend of Dirk that make the boxes. This year me and my wife went down to Kalbe and visit Dornbluth, where Dirk gave us a tour him self, And sign my outer and inner box to the watch. DB are just so great congrets 🎉

Nice watch, I love Dornbluth and have been in talks with them for a while. I do hope to purchase from them eventually. Big congrats, I think you went with a watch brand that feels personal, simple and crafted with integrity, I would choose Dornbluth over many luxury watch brands that are more recognized. Was just about to comment on the box when you did. The engraved text on the movement is beautiful, really shows how the choice of font can elevate the look of decorative text. The last bit may seem obvious, but small brands could really elevate their watches if they paid more mind to that when engraving their custom rotors or any other parts of a watch, especially since machine engraving or laser etching isn't that expensive.

I really enjoyed how you displayed the finer details of the watch - it looks fantastic. There's not enough material on them and I'm keen to know how the timekeeping performs over time. I was interested in them but ended with a GO instead

The ü is pronounced like u say "eeeeee" and while still doing it then slowly form a small circle with your lips. That is the ü sound. Then ignore the silent h at the end of the name and just say "Dornblüt". The & in German is "und", with the u being pronounced just like "you" without y". So you could try saying "yound" and then leave out the y. The "Sohn" (=son) is very close to the English "Zone" so just say that with what you consider a German accent. You can either leave out the "D." or say it like an old Irish man would tell you of "a wonderrrful DAY". As in deh or duh, not sure if that helps. "Deh Dornblüt und Zon" (This coming from a German)

Beautiful watch, beautiful video. What's not so beautiful? You did not tell us the price. I went to their website - likewise, they refuse to state the price. After further digging on American sites, I found the price. In the neighborhood of Omega and Grand Seiko, which is perfectly reasonable for a watch of this sublime quality. However, it is insulting to the prospective customer to refuse to clearly state the price. It smacks of the JP Morgan quote about his yacht: 'If you have to ask, you shouldn't even think of getting one.'

i find the level of customisation disconcerting. compare models shown in the catalogue to the configurator and what’s shown at stockists, you’ll find they’re inconsistent or incomplete and in some instances techniques used or options possible not stated at all or are badly illustrated. i would never known i’d made the right choice.
