Some KZfaq & Facebook content creators seem to view themselves as celebrities, but you stay genuine and keep it real...and when you said you had a good cry, I believe it. I have loved this pattern since I was a child. I began collecting in my mid thirties, and saved them for special occasions. When my mother in law passed away, I inherited her set, thus the service for 20. One day, thinking of her, I realized that life is too short, so now I use my collection daily. I love them, and they are even more special now that I know you appreciate them, too. Again, sincerest congratulations!!!

Dear Kevin , thank you for your videos, they have given me back some wonderful memories of My Grand mother, she would all ways have afternoon tea ,it would be in her Blue willow service ,we had many conversations of her growing up as well what I did in school, I found myself rushing home each day for that tiny moment of happiness , she would listen and never judge just smiled with her warm eyes. Even now almost 50 years later i still enjoy a cup of tea in the same blue willow service .

I had the Blue Willow dishes displayed in my dinning room cabinet when I was raising my children. Needed to let the dinning room set go when I had to move and there was no room for a dining room. Oh! Kevin! I was so glad to see your new set of Blue Willow! I too have a set! They were a gift from my brother when his beautiful wife passed away. It’s one of my prized possessions! I am a retired teacher and I was fortunate to just stumble upon a book by Allan Drummond called The Willow Pattern Story. I was holding my breath when you told the story, wondering and hoping that our stories matched and they did! I taught creative writing to my fourth graders and every year I would carefully pack up as many dishes as I could to bring to my classroom. Each pair of students had a dish to look at while I gave them a bit of history about Chinese porcelain dinnerware and then introduced them to the book. As I read the story of the old Chinese mandarin and his beautiful daughter Koong Shee and Chang they were thrilled to locate the various story elements in the illustrations on the dishes. They were enchanted and inspired. After the lesson was over, their assignment was to write a short fairy tale of love and beauty. Then I gave them art paper to design their own plate to go with their story. They read them aloud and we all enjoyed each other’s creativity. I will leave you with this. Although the author of this original story is unknown here is an old rhyme that describes the pattern. Two pigeons flying high Chinese vessel sailing by Weeping willow hanging o’er Bridge with three men,, if not four Chinese temples there they stand Seem to take up all the land Apple trees with apples on A pretty fence to end my song. I so enjoy your videos!

I bought a blue willow dinner set when I was station in England back in 1984. They have been my special occasion dishes since then. I later inherited several of my great grandmothers blue willow dishes and servers. I love to pick up extra pieces at thrift shops and rummage sales. It is such a fun set to put on the table! Food always looks beautiful on blue willow.

I have this pattern, and love it! Thanks for waiting to unbox it so you could do so with us, and for telling us the story behind the pattern 🙂 You play piano beautifully! Took lessons when I was a kid but could never learn to read music... once I played something I would remember it and play by ear. My teacher told me, "You're playing the right notes but you're not reading the music." Ended the lessons... to this day I can play pretty much any song on the radio but CANNOT read.
