+Chris Keough +O Ben-Ad I took the dive and got my SH1000Combo last week after much deliberation and comparing features/options with similar products. I also bought two used iPads. I agree it is a little pricey, even when listed on sale. You can save some money with used iPads. You can look for two iPad Air 16GB Wi-Fi only. I got two iPad Air 2 64GB Wi-Fi/cell because I want to use them for actual flying and other personal uses and need more storage and speed. I sim and also fly recreationally in real life. But the main reason for purchasing the Simionic SH1000Combo is that I wanted to stay current in the G1000 when I go out flying. Certified G1000 sims at local schools, at the time of this post, go for $79/hour. If I use the SH1000Combo for a number of hours I break even and the rest are profits. I do not fly much so staying current with is important to me, and much safer. That is what I like about the SH1000Combo. I can use it as a standalone unit with the MFD/PFD. I practice with the apps on a weekly basis when I am bored or before going to bed. Yes, I could just do sim and practice or get a much cheaper G1000 PC software but this is not the same as actually turning knobs and pressing buttons. Software sim is what I did first when I got the Simionic MFD/PFD apps. And it helped a lot but I wanted a little more real hands-on practice. For me, sim'ing is an added bonus. But I do sim'ing to practice procedures for actual flying practice. If you are not a pilot I can see the decision being more difficult. Also, keep in mind what to do when the iPads are discontinued or batteries go bad or the iOS is not supported on the app or iPad size increases too much to fit the bezel.

It would almost seem more cost of effective to purchase the RealSimGear setup than to buy these units and Ipads .

nice, but the asking price + 2 iPADS you are looking over $2K ..... I think for most Simmers it's will stay as a Dream ...lol Same Idea just with 2 10" High Quality LCD Display & with PC apps compatible with the Stock G1000 or any 3ed Party apps will make way more sense.

If the point is understanding how G1000 works, there are free applications and simulators for this. In case if it will be used for flight simulator, I think it is unlogicaly costly if we consider it works just for a few planes in the games like X-Plane and MFS2020. Anyways, nice video, thanks.

Lost costs...Simionic PFD and MFD on the iPad are completely worthless as long as there is no (better) synchronization between MSFS and Simionic on iPAD...
