my wallet is in pain but at least my ears get to enjoy some satisfying noises. and hey, maybe if enough people watch this video, my wallet will hurt a bit less. (no pressure, i don’t mean to guilt trip anyone, you don’t have to watch this lol)
today we’re doing an unboxing! to be more specific, i’m unboxing a new laptop that i really needed for the back to school season, since my old laptop dies whenever i try to edit videos or go on Zoom. i completed my desk & workspace setup with some accessories, including a mechanical keyboard build, my trusty ipad pro, and a nice case because the permanence of stickers scares me. this isn’t my typical content, but i hope the ASMR inspired editing style is fun and relaxing.

Is this compatible to the Macbook because this is uniquely for windows (windows button). I don't know whether it can switch between Mac or Windows mode.

@@giadinhotieu when you buy mechanical keyboard, usually they will provide you with 2 different keycaps layout. By default, the layout will be in windows mode. You have to change the layout using the extra keycaps they give you for Mac using keycap puller provided.

Having a full-sized keyboard is a must if you have larger hands do a lot of typing, just can't stress that enough. Loved your video and you gave me some ideas with setting up multiple screens by keeping it simple and not breaking the bank, thank you.😊👌👍✨

@@laurengrippaldi7424 I have a 2 year old iPad Air (2019 version) that works with Apple Pencil Gen 1, which I do have, but never use, cause it’s a pain to charge and store it. Husband and I just got iPhone 12 Plus Max’s this year…sooooo…iPad is running like a top and still fast…I just love new gadgets over about everything else, lol

I come from the MBA life, so this might be a bit different, but keyboard covers will damage the screen over the long term. If you intend to use it don't close the laptop with it installed. Look into it, that may be different for the Pros. I do envy the minimal setup - hope it does you well! It's so pretty :]

yes! my brother taught me to take the keyboard cover after every use at night before closing down the laptop. it could leave marks on the screen and cause long term damage

They absolutely destroyed the display on my macbook, the glare was so bad and it almost looked like a layer was peeling off. at first I actually thought something had gotten onto the screen and kept trying to wipe it off. When I realized it was permanent damage I just gave up and hired a third party tech to install a new screen because it was basically unusable : For those who don't know, the problem is that the gap between the keyboard and the screen is really small on macbooks compared to some others, so the covers put constant pressure on the closed screen

@@joaquina2447 how much did it cost you to replace the screen? i'm from indonesia and it's hella expensive to replace the screen here. pretty close to half the price of a new macbook. so now most people opt to might as well get a new macbook instead of replacing the damaged screen.

Love the video but you really shouldn’t use keyboard covers with your laptops! Condensation can build up under the covers and get into your computer’s innards. It also gives you a false sense of security that you’re protecting your laptop from spills and such, but it doesn’t really do that. It can also damage your screen!

yeah i used to have one and it would make my screen dirty and i would have to wipe it. plus it kept slipping and muffled the sounds from my computer

yes!!! it made my mac overheat and the battery became inflamed. they’re super bad for your laptop, they don’t actually provide real protection.

I think Apple have come out and said don’t use them because peoples screens are breaking. Nothing should be on the keyboard or screen (camera covers) when you close it

laptop hard cases and keyboard covers can be detrimental to your laptop, the hard cases can seriously impact air flow and heat transfer and can damage the hinge as it adds too much weight to the lid. The keyboard cover also damages the screen because the clearance for the lid isn't enough to accommodate a thick rubber layer in between the keyboard and screen

If this is an M1 MacBook Pro airflow shouldn’t be a problem! The chip usually stays cool enough that the fans don’t have to spin much, the M1 MacBook Air doesn’t even have a fan! Lol

i was also hesitant to sticker my laptop so what I did was buy a clear case for it and sticker that instead. A+ idea in my book since I'm constantly changing aesthetics so i can just switch out the case to whichever group of stickers i'm feeling that day lol

hey just to let you know, the keyboard cover will cause your macbook to heat up a lot more than normal! also they can cause your mac to not close properly or even damage the retina display so i would take it off before i close the lid!

that was so calming! it makes me want to get a new computer, desk, and keyboard. i currently do not have a desk in my room. I have a "comfy area" with all of my memorable stuffed animals and pillows I decided to keep. i am thinking of moving them underneath my bed (mostly my stuffed animals underneath my bed) and moving a desk and stuff into the spot I am currently sitting in, the "comfy area". anyways, I enjoyed your video and I am considering doing something like that!

I mean... not really. If you really know keyboard layouts you would know that size and layout has nothing to do with "upgrading". It's all preference. A budget 75% is not an upgrade from a custom, high-end 60%

MacBooks aren't exactly known for great thermals at the best of times - I'm not sure I'd want to put a plastic case around one that'll be rather less thermally conductive than the metal body.

Beautiful set up! Be careful with the passthrough charging through the anker hub. I've heard it can be damaging to the computer battery in some cases, so you may want to charge it directly or look more into it if you can!

i totally understand about putting stickers on the actual device that's pretty expensive!!! I have a cover on mines too but I found that you really don't need to stick the stickers on the device itself but just to place them on the inside of the case with its sheet still attached. that way you can change the stickers without worrying of actually peeling them off. Just a thought to think about if you wanna have stickers.

I brought my macbook pro 4 months ago and it was the best purchase i made. I literally use it everyday and it’s so responsive it’s ideal. a tip is to get a clear case and arrange the sitckers underneath the case and snap the case on! you dont have to stick on the stickers and it lets you put on whatever stickers you want!
