Yeah, cause only difference between the Pro and Air really is basically just cooling but these chips aren't like Intel so the cooling performance shouldn't be that much of a difference compared to previous generations.

having a customization feature on the purchase page would be cool. like selecting from a M1 and M1Pro or something chip, tapered or square edge, touch bar or no, trackpad size, screen size, charger, etc. this could allow apple to sell a cheaper macbook model and an extra powerful one. if you select the cheapest options it could go down to like $699 and if you go all out it could go to like $1399 for people willing to spend money vs people just looking for a decent macbook.

I never thought i would want to change to any Apple product, but WOW! I am very impressed with the engineering thst is in these laptops and the phones. Absolutely amazing to look at all this innovation with the ARM processors. Time will tell if these are better quality than the former versions.

I had both the Air and the Pro models in M1 flavor. I bought them both to test them side by side to see how I felt about using either one. But in the end, I returned the Pro model because of two main reasons: 1) I hated the Touch Bar on the 16" MacBook Pro I tried and I still hate the Touch Bar on the 13" M1. It's far too annoying for me just to do very simple tasks like raising and lowering the volume. I have no idea why Apple ever invented this for their Pro laptops. 2) While there is only a .2 pound weight difference between the two, I could tell and I like the Air's slightly lighter weight. I think the Air will be a very solid performer for 90% of us users that simply use their laptops for web browsing, emailing and like me, watching tons of KZfaq videos on our laptops. I think it's incredible at how much performance you get from Apple's base model, super-slim, lightweight contender. But at the same time, the Air does have more than enough horsepower to handle tasks like 4K video editing and whatnot. Yes, I know the Air's M1 CPU could begin to throttle depending on how hard and how long it is pushed, but for 90% of us that'll never be a problem.

From a hardware perspective, this is so damn exciting. I mean come on, an entirely new processor architecture! This is the first time I'm tempted by a Mac computer in my life, haha. I'm a little bit on the fence about jumping on it though, simply because it's a first gen (even coming from a tech giant), and the emulator optimization does cut down on its efficiency - I use a lot of non-optimized software in my studies. So I'm definitely waiting to see how people get it to perform in real life with that sort of stuff (SPSS, large resource databases, etc)... NOT simply showing off using it with native apps.

I'm an editor and videographer and just ordered the new MacBook Pro. And I CAN"T WAIT. I've been waiting for this for a while, been holding off and using work computers and anything else. This will let me be able to do massive projects and renders on a portable computer! Can't wait till they implement it with the iMac's or Mac Pro's. I'll be be buying one instantly.

Your videos have gotten better, they are more watchable by a mature demographic. Less flip commentary, less gesticulations, simply smoother and less distracting. Keep it up. Oh, one thing. I sped this up to 1.5x speed. You could pick up the pace and shorten the video.

After 10 years, EA became friends with Criterion again and launched a new version of Need For Speed Hot Pursuit Remastered 2020. This version has a lot of cars, new colors, challenging races and evil cops, so it won't be easy luck.

it's a real revolution for laptop and Desktop CPU's or SoC's and i'm quite stunned to see that some Apple skeptics like ya and some others do not do too much videos about it... but finally we got one... which barely scratch the surface of the gain in battery and performance you gain.... i just hope you'll do more tests....

I have just picked up the Air and I gotta say the battery is OUSTANDING, I can easy get a whole day and then some running just on battery. I am so impressed with what Apple has done here, and I look forward to seeing what competitors do as a response. Went for the Air cos I don't like the touchbar and it is the cheaper variant. Loving it.

The only reason it has such high battery is because it has almost no hardware to deal with.
