This is our setup at home. Purposely went this way over the bigger models due to the instant heating, automatic frother, ability to pick our own grinder of choice. Saved some money also and used that on espresso accessories like dosing funnel, scale, tamper etc

I do the same (manually timed) and it’s the only way I’ll pull shots! I typically go 2:1 unless I’m making an affogato, then I grind a little finer and shoot for closer to 1:1 to thicken it up a tad before I pour it over my ice cream.

What are your thoughts on the Niche Zero grinder?
@NoZenith
@NoZenith Жыл бұрын
TLDR: I have heard no one refute it still is the least messy, simplest to dial in, easiest to clean with extremely consistent grinds and best workflow on the market. Personally, I'm biased because I've already bought one although I haven't received it until Tuesday... I've been shopping espresso machines and grinders for over 3 years I was going to go with the Breville Smart grinder Pro because they do bundles if you buy directly through Breville and everything was on sale but they wouldn't let me pair that with it so I said screw it and went end game. Remember that watching grinder reviews is kind of like watching car reviews, those guys are connoisseurs and tend to like performance and getting nitpick because it gives them talking points. A lot of the things they notice and point out are just minor differences, not things that you're going to notice in a negative way. I kept writing off the Niche Zero because people talked about it having too many fines and particle distribution (esp at coarser settings and i want ONE grinder for every use) but then after absorbing all that information I see that the top coffee KZfaqrs with the exception of Lance Hedrick are still using it and enjoy it! That said, getting one of the Bambinos without adjustable temperature control or flow control, we are probably not the kind of consumers that are going to notice the difference on the palate between a high-end grinder and a higher-end grinder 😂 I'm not buying single-origin naturally processed crazy expensive beans because I understand need higher temperatures for extraction... I want ease of use, good quality output for my investment, low maintenance, easy to clean, minimal input on the daily but with the ability to step up my game on the weekends, kinda setup = Niche Zero grinder paired with Breville Bambino Plus

I paired with the Niche Zero! Getting the grinder on Tuesday... I know I'm not using optimal milk as I don't intend to keep whole milk around but as I'm fiddling with the unit, I'm trying to figure out if there is a best position for the frothing pitcher if you're going to use the auto milk steaming and all I'm seeing is a recommendation to make sure everything is dry and it's touching the heat sensor in the drip tray. Should I have the wand right against side of the pitcher? Should it be more centered? Should I have the pitcher more to one side or centered as well?

If youre using a alternative milk i suggest to foam it, and let is rest for about 20 seconds so it will thicken a little bit. I do this all the time on work. Example With full milk i put in the espresso shot and then i start frothing. With alternative milks i froth, then i make the espresso shot and let the milk rest meanwhile. Around 20-30 seconds. Quick walse and its perfect 😊 (I do keep it thin btw dont add to much air)

The Bambino uses a non-standard 54mm porta filter size. Once you invest money into the bambino and decide to move up, you’ll need to buy a new tamp, distribution tool, basket, funnel, etc. Breville is made in China, which is fine, but considering the origin, the price rivals many prosumer level machines made in Italy. Italy is still a strong player in this market with lots of offerings of high quality machines that are made to last, many of which, comes with standard components that are available if need for repair. Note that Breville doesn’t want you to repair your machine if it breaks down, but rather pay for shipping and send the entires unit. Your experiencing vary though. Good entry level machine if you don’t plan on jumping deeper into the espresso rabbit hole.
