It really is, just bought it yesterday. The black dial with gold tones really match. But just seeing that sweep at this price is so satisfying! Caught myself looking at the watch constantly.

Is there any way to tell if these watches are really stainless steel or just nickel plated brass? I love Bulova watches, but the last Marine Star I bought was supposedly SS and turned out to be brass. Is there a guarantee?

The website description says it's stainless steel.

Lol....brass and nickel are far more expensive than SS...what would be the point of making watches with these materials? Your marine star was made of SS, no doubt about it.

5 second/ month accuracy in not entirely New. My 1980 Omega Seamaster quartz was 5 sec / month accurate. SomeEarly Seiko was 1sec /month.

This mechanism( precisionist) has as an error of +- 10 seconds a year, not a month.
