Subbed for sure. Picking up a loaded e92 6mt, want to do a 6466 in a motiv or doc kit and go for 750-800whp, and do roll & 1/2mile at nfz rantoul. So keep the videos coming, Gives me inspiration and others! Not too many videos documenting the conversions! Hell yeah!

So what's the difference between the journal bearings and ball bearings I noticed that the price is about $500 difference and you got me wanting to do this single upgrade so bad

Ball bearing is slightly faster spooling. You can Google ball bearing vs journal bearing turbos and that should give you a pretty good idea about what's best for you.

Did you swap injectors? Or are you sticking with the ones that came in the motor you picked up? Any idea what you’ll be making on pump gas?

My index 12 injectors were swapped over to this motor. I don't plan on running pump gas ever, it'll only see straight E85 because I have easy access to it and my fuel system can handle it. Shooting for 700whp glory run on the dyno.

Good video, do you know if that kit would mount on the 535i ? I have hydraulic stabilizer on front , so my lines would be on top of coolant tank.

No, it is not a direct bolt on for the 535i, but I believe it could fit with some customization.

I don't know exactly. I haven't taken the motor apart. I'm guessing a chipped ring or ringland because the compression went back up when I put a tablespoon of oil down the spark plug hole. Either way, it had a nice 120k miles of abuse... she held up well.

Any problems with controlling boost? The doc race kit has to be the best quality kit aside from the wastegate placement.

It does naturally overboost by about 2-3psi if you're using the wastegate spring to control boost. But my JB4 has no problem accurately controlling boost. I like everything else about the kit, so I chose it and haven't looked back!

Didn’t know who to ask I’ve seen most people going for doc racing kit and was personally looking at the jpworks ball baring turbo and didn’t know what would my best option be both kits come with similar parts from same brands but once a little cheaper please help

Doc Race is the best in the business. Quality parts and good customer support. JPWorkz is cheap and has terrible customer service. Sometimes buyer's don't even receive their kits.

Was there a problem with the MMP turbos? I literally cannot decide on what the better route is at this point in terms of single or upgraded twins. BTW Looking forward to the updates! I followed your blog and the attention to detail was amazing

Yes, of course. This kit works around the factory AC system no problem.

I forgot you didn't have the same problem as I did. I have rod knock so some metal shaving might have gone to the oil cooler. so I don't want those to get in my new engine. if you do can you do a tutorial?

Ah, that makes sense. You could just run some water through it, then let it dry all the way. And/or run some cheap oil through it to bright out any shavings. I probably won't get too crazy with mine.

It's expensive and lots of these N54 engine builders can't seem to get it right. But I'm sure sooner or later it'll be inevitable.

I've heard first-hand stories (some good, some pretty bad) about ABR. But I have respect for Alex himself. Motiv is definitely an option, but expensive. There are some out there, but I'm hoping I can wait a year or two and by then everyone will have it figured out and price will drop a bit.
