I tried all of the e-collars (Dogtra, SportDog, E-Collar Easy Educator and FOB educator) and this is the most ergonomic and has the best tactile feedback. Also if you put it in 2d continuous mode (even if you only have 1 dog) the buttons are actually much more intuitive as you can just hold the other (red) button if you want a boost vs. having to press one (black) then the other (red). The finger trainer is also a nice addition and gives you some flexibility, my only wish is it had some sort of double tap to boost so you aren't limited to what you can do compared to the transmitter.

Good job, You provided an excellent video. I've spent some time researching products and after watching your video 10 minutes ago I made a decision and purchased it on Amazon moments ago. For your demographic info - I'm a senior, have been rescuing senior dogs for the past 30 years and recently rescued/adopted a very strong 8 y/o black german shepherd, intact, with spinal myelopathy. From experience, I know that a love, a gentle touch and help from the collar will teach him to stop wanting to kill other dogs and relax.

We have a Garmin Pro 550. It was super easy for our mal to become collar wise. The remote is totally obnoxious (big and bulky) I was excited to see the finger kick, butterfly contact points and double receiver option. They have done an excellent job

8 weeks in. What are you thoughts about the finger trainer? I've been curious about finger trainers for awhile. Seems great in theory, but everyone thing made simple has its draw backs. Curious what you think of it?

bostonforthedogs I really do like it! All of the features they claim are true as far as I can tell. I like to play tug and fetch with my dogs while working their obedience tricks and having the finger button makes it so much easier for me to prompt my dog for voice cues. I have the main transmitter in my pocket and rarely does it have to come out.

I still have questions about how this works. I don’t understand “mode change” at all. I don’t know what “mixed mode” or “continuous mode” mean. I appreciate that it doesn’t take long to charge, but how long will it stay charged? Like even if I don’t use it at all, the light is red like it needs to be charged. So how long can I run it before charging?

Hi, can the main S button, the one that coincides with the finger trainer button, be programmed to vibrate or is it only usable with the shock function? Also, does the finger button work with other transmitters or just the ft-330?

Great question! No, the black S button can not be reprogrammed. However, you can reassign the finger trainer to the vibration, T, button. To do that, press the black T button and the m/c button simultaneously. As far as I know, the finger button only currently works for the ft-330 but there is always chatter about them adding that ability to other receivers.

You’re welcome. No, but you could pair the vibration receiver to the ft-330 transmitter and then you could get the adjustable control via the S buttons. I hope that helps.

Have you used the finger trainer with gloves (thick work/outdoors gloves)? If so (or if you try it), is it still easy to use? My husband usually wears gloves and has to push his wheelchair, so using just the transmitter is difficult for him. However, since he wears gloves to push, I’m not sure the finger trainer will work for him.

Couple of questions: 1) The 12' on the finger trainer--that is just 12' to the main transmitter? Or it needs to be 12' from the receiver collar? 2) How long do that batteries last for each of the 3 devices?

Longoriahaus Dog Training Thanks, but I really can’t wait that long to make a decision as I have a service dog in training and am finding that a more balanced approach (as opposed to positive only) it the transition I need to make in training. Every day of training counts with a service dog! I hope your video helps somebody else out in the future though, and appreciate this video!

This is like having an apple watch with out LTE.... just use your phone . Just a gimmick . Get the et300 mini educator . Smaller for hands ...... can dial stimulation level while using momentary or continuous stimulation.

Thanks for the insight Rocky. For anyone else, this collar with the finger button is my preferred training collar. There is a lot of versatility and it especially makes hands free use of a specific level very easy. If you are needing more than the one level the finger button provides, go back to using the remote and then work your way back to a single button.

can you use this collar to train a good working dog with medium to high drive ?? dont want to have to switch remotes

Matthew B Unless the dog is a total untrained high drive mess, this collar will be MORE than enough. The highest I have ever had to use it was in a level 17 (out of 100) and that was only once in a highly stimulating environment. Everyday levels for me are between 5 and 12.

Matthew, I really feel this is a great remote trainer. It’s super versatile. But, like any tool, it’s just that. It is one more thing to help define your message to your dog. I have trained many dogs how perform the behaviors I want first, then I use the remote after that. If I can help, please be sure to hit me up.

Mark Jaggers I think so. I wear it practically everyday. Since I love to play tug and also do protection sports, it’s made it much easier for me to not have my hands jammed up with gear. It really works for me. Hope that helps.

Can the PG-300 receiver be paired with the FT-330 transmitter and work with the finger kick? ECT has said in the past that the PG-300 receiver could pair with my EZ-900 transmitter. This makes me wonder just how flexible/compatible the receiver is (as I really want a finger kick and I really want vibration only). Could you test this?

Hi Shayna. This is Al. From what I understand, yes. Even though I have not paired that specific receiver, I have paired the receiver from the micro Educator and it worked. If you want, I’ll order the PG-300 receiver and test it. Just let me know.

My own PG-300 is also in the mail and I'll report back on how it does with my EZ-900 transmitter (I was thinking of setting it as "Dog 2" and applying it to the same collar as "Dog 1" so I can switch between them.) If the finger kick experiment works for you, I'll get to acquire that system next year! Can't wait to see your video.

DANTE BELGIAN MALINOIS I’ll admit that it’s not the most slim design but I’ve got to tell you in no uncertain terms, this collar blows 99% of other collars out of the water. I also ordered mine without the yellow controller and opted for a black controller. There is no comparison between the effectiveness of this unit and a cheapie off Amazon or Ebay. It can also be used very humanely because it has 100 levels, and anything below level 5 is next to impossible to even feel. If you don’t own it you don’t know what you are missing out on.

Do you have an earlier version? On page 24 of the manual - www.ecollar.com/media/Owner's%20Manuals/FT-330%20Finger%20Trainer%20Educator%20Manual/FT-330-332%20Owners%20Manual%20Rev%2010-21.pdf , it says there is no on/off switch. I'm curious about ergonomics - does your finger get tired? Also does the finger switch work reliably in the field?
