Demand for Western-style firearms in Middle Eastern countries like the United Arab Emirates has been through the roof in the 21st century.
Enter: Caracal. Caracal is part of Edge Group, a monstrous military industrial powerhouse that supplies everything from armored vehicles to advanced robotics to customers in Africa, Asia, Europe, and certain countries in the Middle East.
But we aren’t here to talk about Edge Group. Today we are adding a new brand to the Guns.com roster and unboxing three Caracal rifles.

Another interesting piece of information is Caracal owns Haenel, and the Caracal 816A2 is basicly the exact same rifle as the Haenel CR223 the rifle that won the german service rifle competition before HK sued, and, the one that B&T imports and charges over $3 grand for, but the Caracal can be found for $1800 dollars. Exact same gun besides a few furniture and esthetics choices. And I think the bcg coating is different.....just trying to make sure people are informed before they choose which rifle to buy.

The Caracal lineage is a probably the best in the industry. I love all the generations from HK, Haenel, Sig and on to Caracal. I want the 11.5 upper they have very much. They managed to streamline the gas block with out affecting heat dissipation. Great lineage and great guns. Love em.

You left out that this is the gen 3 of the piston system by the same designer from the HK416 program, who then went on to Sig Sauer to design the 516 version in a second gen piston iteration and then from there he went to Caracal and designed the 816 series, which he suggests is the most up to date iteration that he could design for the system.

Great very interesting rifles. Maybe the DI rifles are more advanced and better generally nowadays than in the 1960s however I am from an AK country so that DI gas tube seems to me incredibly fragile. Is the 5.56x45mm the only available caliber for these rifles?Is there the 7.62x39mm or any other caliber option for these rifles?The IWI ARs or the Caracal ARs which one is better? Is there the 20/24 inch barrel Caracal AR? What is the price of these rifles?Have a good one.
