thank you, happy holidays to you and yours. PS my "painted" popcorn ceiling removal came out great. i put a 1/2 bottle of deglosser in water to "soften" paint, work perfect.

I have seen folks complaining about the cost even with this one being $600.00 cheaper. Here’s a thought, rent one if you only need it for one or even a few projects. That’s what I’m going to do. Quit complaining and think outside your box. Great video and I’ve always rented equipment I rarely use. $130.00 for a week at Sunbelt Rentals. Appreciate the info!!

Thanks Chris!! Love your channel and all the help and information you put out here. I love learning new skill sets and am always looking for more knowledge about what I love, which is everything building, remodeling. I have always hated painting and my hubby has always had that one fall on him. He is flat out thrilled I found your channel and is enjoying seeing me looking forward to painting our kitchen cabinets. I’ve sprayed before, am good at it and until now dreaded it. Feel the same way about skim coating walls LOL really good at it but UGGGG! Today I finished (happily) skim coating my kitchen ceiling where we tore the soffit out above those cabinets about to be sprayed. Any tips on preventing blushing and should I use a fisheye retardant/preventative. Using SherWood products. Pre cat, high build Primer, surface and pre cat, high build tinted lacquer. Pale gray blue on lowers and white on uppers. Any info on using these products (thinning etc) would be greatly appreciated! I’ve never worked with lacquer before, that’s why I’m renting the HVLP for a week so I have several extra days to get everything dialed in. Worse case scenario, I’ve got a friends who worked at a cabinet shop for years who can come in and spray them for me. But I’m looking forward to the learning process thank to you guys!

hey maybe one day you should make a video about spraying oil-based paint I tried to do it not too long ago and I got so many runs and and it just didn't turn out right it's nothing like latex

I have a 3 stage mini mite by fuji spray. It's a nice little machine, I wish it had a spot for the needles though.

Do you thin your paint before it goes through your HVLP? What a fine finish tip on an airless sprayer work just as well? I've noticed that most of the recommendation for orifice sizes on tips is greater than the orifice size for a fine finish tip.

I have an apollo precision hvlp set up, it's amazing. 5 stages and I bought a needle set, very pricey though. I've never used any other turbine system so can't compare it to anything. I'd like to add some smaller cups for the gun and also a pressure pot set up some time in the future. I watch and enjoy all your videos. Merry Christmas 🎄

Hi Chris I need one of those HVLP to spray stain and clear on new pine trim and doors however I don't want to use lacker & oil stain what kind of water base stain and clear coat would you use in this case Thanks! In advance (love your vids)

Doesn't look like anyone replied. General Finishes makes some great waterbased stains and clear coats. They have waterbased stain and waterbased dye stains. Their "high performance" topcoat is terrific

Solid info. Just picked this up on a Black Friday sale. I mainly build built-ins, staircase systems, cabinets, signange, wallart, and furniture out of my shop. Hoping I shouldn't have bought the 115 instead. A lot of reviews that I read, said this unit, if spraying paint, you're better off getting the 3m PPS gun system. Thoughts? Thanks for the videos!

I realize this is an old video. Did the 105 have 4 stage in the past (you mentioned it has 4 turbines in this video). The current product description says it's a 5 stage unit. It's also no longer $600, but rather $1450

That seems extremely expensive for the home diyer. $1450 is a lot of loot for using on a few projects a year at most. I have used diaphragm Cambell Hausfeld airless pumps and piston Wagner pumps in the past which work out of a five gallon bucket or a gallon if desired. As I recall either of them was around $500. I was particularly partial to the Wagner which my local rental outlet used. So it was in commercial use and was still nowhere near your price point. Just not practical. I thought I was on to something a few weeks ago when I came across your channel but with $1500 sprayers, $500 cordless, and $100 brushes I think I have had enough. Nothing here for me. Take care. Just suggesting a good quality sprayer! You save money doing it yourself and buying the tools and material rather then paying someone the labor for it! I would say it is well worth it!
