Cool! I like the WEN stuff. I have an old Craftsman electric hand planer like that. It really comes in handy to flatten out boards and clean them up.

Tips from a Shipwright has a Ryobi he likes which he modded to really improve it. I'd like to get this Wen as its much wider, however not sure how long the blades will last. Heard the blades are rather soft compared to others, which means more replacements. Also not sure if you can adjust the blades as easily as the Ryobi. For the price, and to use upside down in a table though, I think I'll take the plunge. I can probably get blades made of a better steel if necessary.
@ClevesBackyardWoodworking
@ClevesBackyardWoodworking 3 жыл бұрын
hey, blades are lasting quite a while, guess it depends how much they're used. blade adjustment is easy. not sure about the upside down table.

I am a total newbee, but I recently got a chop saw with a dust bag, and also a sander. I have used them both a couple of times. They are not expensive brands, but the saw dust does not go into the bags at all. So, I just bought a small 4 gallon shop vac, and I am going to.hook my tools up to the shop vac and turn it on while I'm using the tools. I hope it works, but I haven't received the shop vac yet, so I haven't tried it yet, naturally.

Do sign makers use an electric planer to remove spray paint after spraying inset letters? Seems easier than sanding.
@ClevesBackyardWoodworking
@ClevesBackyardWoodworking 2 жыл бұрын
for me personally it's not ideal as the planer can chip out parts of letters or whatever and with the sander you have more control.
