This doesn’t really have anything to do with the video but I just have to say this. Seeing Nico go from a happy wide eyed kid to the dark gloomy boy we know now is gonna hit even harder in live action. I can’t wait for the show to get more seasons but I’m also not ready for them.

8:03 Rick uses side characters to show that they are still kids. Our characters don’t want to be heroes. They could not care less about glory. They want normal lives. The side characters, AKA the ones who aren’t forced on quests constantly, do what normal teenagers do. The side characters are what should have been. Being the hero brings tragedy and they fight this fact by trying to be normal kids. Also, from a writers perspective, side characters life details help your world seem real. The little bits of random information makes the story feel less isolated. Things aren’t static when the plot isn’t moving if people have lives outside of said plot. They are people being brought into a story, not a story that creates people.

I’m glad that you’re eating better from hating Perachel. I know you struggled. I know I did at first but now my OTP is Solangelo. 😊 (this was due to my intro to LGBT in HOH although it wasn’t my awakening but it helped introduce me to LGBT and months later, I realized my sexuality)

There are SO MANY obscure ships in PJO AO3 that I have come across you would not BELIEVE it. For example, say Octavian. You hate him, you love him, you say good riddance, you call him anemic, you shove him into therapy etc. He's not really that deep of a character. (And it's never explained if he was being "influenced" by Gaia.) Aside from Rachel he is also shipped with Percy (because Percy), Jason, Reyna, Luke Castellan (dunno why), and also (as I found out when I dug deeper) several others, including Leo, Mike Kahale, Will, Nico, *Connor Stoll* which is so RANDOM, and also the poly "antagonists" one with Ethan, Alabaster and Bryce. (All of those minor ones have the grand total of like 7 fics each.) So strange...

I’m with Percabeth all the way but it always made me mad how Annabeth came around. She saw how Luke used Salena’s feelings (another girl’s) and that was what finally made her realize that Luke was evil? It wasn’t the many crimes he’d committed or the fact he’d been trying his best to kill Percy for 4 years. I always felt like Percy should’ve mentioned that once or twice even if it would’ve started conflict. Before that it seemed like Annabeth thought she could fix everything and the 3 of them would go get lunch or something. Obviously they’re past that now but Annabeth is still weirdly friendly with people that have tried to kill Percy I guess it’s obvious Annabeth likes Percy in book 3 but it still feels like she’s more attached to Luke and who he was to her before he turned evil. The way Percabeth is written outside the original series makes it all worth it but it’s a lot to overcome for me.

I will now out myself. Im a super weird shipper. Besides being a multishipper, im also somewhat of a dubious shipper. I'll just say it now. I was a devout Pertemis (Percy×Artemis) shipper as a teenager, still kinda am really at age 26 (though i have broadened my horizons and like perpollo now as well). There's just something i love about Percy being such a great man that a man hating goddess would see such goodness in him that she would find herself falling in love. You can call me cringe if you want, i know i am😅

THANK GODS! thank. the. gods. I am not the only on ethat dislikes Calypso and Leonidas. Bro, no. she is way, way, way older. and thier presonalides are too diffrnet. plus i genunly feel like they ONLY feel in love becuase of the cruse. and i think Leo fell so hard becuase of all of his emotional damage and his loniness. Calypso always puts him down physically. and everytime she does Leo complains. she calls him unattractive, and too skinny, and weak, and it doesn't feel playfull. it just feels very cruel. becuase Leo voics the fact he does not like coments about his body weight. Another MAYOR issue i have with it is that Leo keeps moving. it's litterally the first thing he tells us in the first book of HOO. meanwhile Calypso always naggs him about the fact they don; hav a solid home. Leo never had that. he grew up alone, foster home to foster home, bording school to bording school, lived on the streets, stayed at camp half blood for a few months. then traveled the dam world. and Calypso litterally stayed in one stop for thoughds of years. at ths point it's not "stress on a new relationship" they were still fighting and having this basic uissues after dating for over six months which is a really long time to be with someone, espicially as a teenager, Like Leo. i feel like it's not only toxic, but they just aren't compatible. and they are just so desprate for love they won't break up. and they should.

The Frank x Hazel rant you made was SOO on point! I was extremely bored reading the Son of Neptune too mostly because of that, and the moment I found out Hazel may or may not be involved romantically with Leo at some point in the series my brain was like: "PLEASE GODS MAKE THIS ENDGAME!" - because my hearth couldn't take more Frazel. 🥲 After I found out Hazel actually had a thing for Leo's grandpa my interest kinda faded, but I still liked Leo x Hazel more than Frank x Hazel. P.S. For some reason in more recent time I saw a big part of the fandom suddenly shipping Valgrace and I am kind of into it, tho I also like McValgrace (Piper x Leo x Jason) and also I have this weird idea that perhaps Leo and Sadie would make a cute ship - so we solve two cases of mortal x immortal at once - would be very happy if that happened ngl, but I don't want Hazel to end up with Frank - so idk.
