Yes!! It always bothers me to see the entourage grabbing gowns that are clearly beyond the bride's budget and then just shrug when she points out she can't afford it. I absolutely loved this episode; what a sweet, supportive family.

I saw that on another Lori episode. The bride was considerate and only wanted a $2000 budget but the dress she liked was $5000. Therefore, she hesitated but her dad got it for her and told her not to worry and she did wear that dress on the wedding day.

We are all raised very differently. I would NEVER allow my parents to pay some ridiculous amount of money for a dress. Absolutely not. I could never place financial burden onto someone else. That to me is a disgrace. I don't care how much money was on the table. Spending money wisely is a road less traveled with specific individuals who were raised to be selfish and irresponsible.

@@linamarie84 i completly understand your point of view, but in the case when a family push the bride to try on a more expensive dress, i think it's normal for them to pay for the extra amount if the bride love the dress they pushed over, so the bride pay for her budget and the alteration and the family pay the rest.

@@linamarie84 We don't know anything about the uncle or their situation. Maybe he could well afford it and has no children of his own. I know my friend's brother did this for all of her kids. He's gay and never had kids of his own or even a long-term relationship (he's of the age before gay marriage became popular) He did a lot for every one of her kids and he could WELL afford it. Now that he is old and sick, her eldest daughter moved him in with her. so, obviously, she appreciated her uncle and what he did for her.

Yup! My dad, uncle, my brothers and my nephews are the most important men in my life. My future husband and son too.

Father's day was a few days ago (in my country) and I wish I could say the same about my dad 😢😢

That's what I thought. My oldest daughter had her dad and my husband at the time both walk her down the aisle, one on each side. It was touching.

or she can have them both on either side of her, i've seen some brides walk down the aisle that way when it's like, dad and stepdad.

This episode has to be at least 12 years old, but yeah.

Absolutely! If you break the bride's budget, it's up to you to fix it!

She was always one of my favorite consultants, always knew to pick the perfect style for everybody's different body shape.

I agree to some extent but you should not spend wastefully just to make yourself “happy “. True happiness comes from within you and no amount of money can buy it.

I have an uncle like that and feel so lucky.

I had an uncle like that. We loved each other deeply. He was always there for me, Supportive , loving and someone I could talk to about anything , without fear of judgement . He's been dead for a long time, now, but I think about him and miss him daily. I always will. Yet, I'm thankful to have been blessed ,with both him and my aunt, in my life. Without their loving support, I really doubt I'd still be here , now. They, literally , saved my life

I agree. She played him. I think that happens often. And, daddy and uncle compensate for the family dynamics. Uncle said she has gone over her budget for everything. Interesting but at the same time pathetic.

I totally agree with you. It seems like she knows how to play daddy and uncle Dave. He said she has gone over budget with everything for the wedding. See a pattern? I am sure uncle Dave came to the rescue. They are compensating for the family dynamics. Easy to see. But, he is the first one on this show to put his money where his mouth is. Most times that doesn’t happen.
