Hearing the uncle speak is so comforting. The calmness, the lack of bitterness, the recognition of God's forgiveness, the emanating of forgiveness as a human being who is being wronged is so commendable. This one hurts so horrible for us and we didn’t know them personally, so the pain these families are feeling is the worst they will ever deal with. Let’s say a special prayer for Ellie tonight and the rest of these little heroes who had to bear the burden of a failed country that they were supposed to be free in to go to school and make memories and form bonds that would last a lifetime. Instead, they have all become another hashtag so let’s send all the families so much love and positive energy. Even though it will never be enough comfort for the loss of a child.

Yes you would be angry and rightly so, but then after the disbelief, shock, fear, anger and hatred and deep grief, come a form of acceptance and a will to go on. Forgiving is the HARDEST thing we humans can do...especially when it involves children, but I believe if one doesn't let it go, it will cloud your life and you will become a bitter human being. You become "that guy" and you become a victim of this tragedy.

Sadly this tragedy claimed the life of another victim. The husband of one of the slain teachers was in deep and unfathomable grief and as a result suffered a fatal heart attack. They were high school sweethearts and he was devoted to her! Many say he literally died of a broken heart! 4 devastated children now have had both of their parents ripped from their life and are now orphaned. RIP to this loving couple and prayers for their children. I cannot imagine what they are going through. ❤🙏❤🙏

This is so heartbreaking to watch. I can’t even imagine the pain these families are going through. As a parent of two small children who can’t currently hug my kids because of Covid is painful that I couldn’t tuck them into bed or kiss or hug them for 3 days now but I can’t even imagine not having the opportunity or option to not have them after my isolation time is over. This truly is heartbreaking and I pray God wraps HIS arms around all these families and gives them the strength to get through these tough times.

I command this man for trying to live a life not filled with anger and hatred, but I think -- as a show of respect to the parents and immediate guardians of those children -- others should hold back expressing their forgiveness publicly until the victims parents had some time to process this horrific event.

you really cant make that call. just some school admin you can’t tell the parents of a missing child “oh your kid probably was killed”. what are they supposed to say? they dont even know the identity of the victims at the time. and they dont know who is where, or who is in the hospital. I personally could never tell a parent their child was killed. I wouldn’t be able to physically say it.

@2Juiced4Me, I’m with you. If the woman had tears in her eyes, she clearly had feelings and emotions in regards to all that had happened. She was not heartless. But she probably had no authority to convey information and at that stage it’s likely all the deaths hadn’t been confirmed. What is she going to say, “well she was probably in the classroom where a lot of kids were killed so she’s probably amongst the dead but I’m not sure yet,”? No. Of course not.

When I went to school we took attendance each day and then the attendance sheet was taken to the office. It really shouldn’t take that long to account for all the students. And if the police did their job in a timely manner they should have had the situation handled before parents even had time to make it to the scene

I pray to god every night and I always ask him the same thing, to please help me become a better man because I am so filled with anger and hatred towards that kid and his mom. For the uncle to say he forgave him already speaks volumes about who he is. My condolences to all family involved and even the one who weren’t the thoughts of losing your child is unbearable.

Maybe racism honestly. I mean we see insidious disparities between the way white and people of colour are treated wherever we look. The gunman for instance was of Latin descent and he is shot. It's quite shocking when you look up how many white persons of interests/actual criminals are shot compared to those of colour. They're usually led out in handcuffs even if heavily armed.

He is not forgiving on behalf of the parents, or on behalf of anyone else. He is forgiving the shooter for his own pain and loss as an uncle. They are interviewing him specifically because he is one who was affected, while giving the parents the space to grieve and come forward on their own time if they wish.

Its cause his beliefs he is christian maybe the other kids parents are not christian so its hard to firgive others who have hurt. A real christian has to forgive to those who have hurt them so their heart wont keep any hate and can have peace in their soul
