The standard sneaker adds about .5 inches to ones height, a bit more for basketball shoes (1-2 inches). Even for taller people, I would still take how much height a shoe adds into consideration. Instead of opting for a +.5 inch height shoe, opting for a +1 or +1.5 inch shoe will give the illusion of longer legs which improves proportions without looking completely out of place (as in this video). No shame in doing so. Above 2 or 2.5 inches of added height though, it starts to be rather noticeable. (I'm 182cm, if that matters)

I'm 5'4 , it bothered me to be short wile i was a teenager. i went to see a growth specialist DR. he ran x-rays, several tests and told me I couldn't grow more because my knees were already locked. I cried, but then he told me something I never forgot: " A man worth, is not determined by his height, but by his heart". i treasured those wise words in my heart and it never bothered me again to be short.

Dude I'm an athletically built 210lbs and 5'8" and 5'9.5" in boots and I feel 6ft tall in cars, tight spots, houses, beds etc. I couldn't see or wanna be taller, I actually enjoy being an average to below average height male. It must be a chore for people bigger then me because as for me I see it. I can just about fit comfortably in all vehicles, roller coster rides etc. I served 8 years in the military and have and definitely can, handle myself. The only way to over come your insecurities of your height is to first accept who you are and acknowledge yourself and realize your worth way more then your height, next is to build your confidence and become competitive then your confidence will grow especially with obstacles you overcame. Once your confident in yourself it will exude to others and won't matter whether your 4ft tall or 6ft tall. Believe in yourself and other will too ✌🏽♥️

I am 1.95m long and always had the opposite problem: being too long, while those around me were "normal height". So I was perceived early on as a hybrid of giraffe and freak. Being "too tall" and "too short" in a "normal environment" sucks either way.

I'm a short guy, and I admit I hide like 2 inches insole inside my shoes. Some of my friends have noticed I'm way shorter... in situations where we need to take off shoes. People always tell me I need to be more "confident in myself". I know it is important, but why does men have to be confident? Why not tell all the girls who wear high heel the same thing? Is unfair :( I began to put my real height in my tinder profile, and I have noticed I get almost no matches compared to before when I didn't even put anything in my profile... lol

I totally understand feeling more powerful with a few inches added under your feet. When I could wear a 3 inch heels, it was amazing the feeling I had. But be careful because it can shorten your Achilles tendon on the back of your ankle if you do it too much and for too long. Unfortunately. Now I can’t wear them at all. Which is horrid. I don’t even notice that the shoes allow a 3 inch difference. That is amazing.❤

I actually don't like plus-height shoes. They're very bulky and make you walk more slowly. Plus I don't think people are that stupid- they can see your shoes making you *look* taller. Normal shoes cut it for me, I'm 1.67m tall and I stay true to that

Here is a simple trick as well. Buy heel support insoles and some good gel insoles. It should boost you about 1/2 to 3/4 inch thick and cost about 20$. Put them in a pair of boots with thick soles and boom your a couple inches taller. You'll feel the difference. If you want to want you can put them in dress shoes or sneakers when you go out as well. It'll give you an idea of how it feels to be a little taller.
