Great demonstration of how your zip line works with all the accessories. Well done!

Thank you for being so detailed with how you did it. I'm wanting to do something similar on my land. Your setup and land looks like a fantastic place! If only I were on the East coast, I'd come and take some classes from you.

Also with enough weight and some more dynema to replace the fishing line in the spool,, would it be possible to return the rider back to the top?

So just drilled through the tree for the line ?? OMG

Have you any trouble with the strap being in the weather? UV rot?

Wow, thanks for prompt reply. 😊 Obvs , for me, the weight is going downhill. Is there some sort of brake on the motor?

Can you share a link to the stuff you used?

Not that it’s a major issue but it’s interesting how the screw gate turns and opens during the ride, and the screws down again.. The con of screw gate carbiners..

Can the zip line carry someone back to the starting point? I’m like you king at installing one to get down a hill to a lake.

Thanks for the video! Can I ask if there are benefits of using a bolt / eyelet through the tree rather than a cable around the tree? Thanks!
@PatrickBrandt Жыл бұрын
Hi Pat. People will often put a cable around the tree trunk and that works well for a temporary set up. Anytime you have a cable around the tree, even if you use spacer blocks to protect the tree, you could end up with the cable cutting into the bark of the trunk and damaging the tree. With a through bolt installation the tree can heal the relatively small wound of the drill hole and continue to grow in girth unaffected by the zip line cable.

it seems like the weight of the line will start pulling the tree over. This does not seem like a healthy rig for the tree. Why not use a strong post that has two or more steel cables anchoring it to the ground?

You should never be hitting your stop block- either move your bungee brakes or get a Spring brake or both. Your 160 lbs won't hit it but a 225 lb probably will. And the throw line attached to your bungee is unnecessary and potentially dangerous. Just move your bungees out of the way by attaching them somewhere else. Otherwise cool setup, thx for sharing.

Can I hire you to install ours?

We hit our stop block all the time. It makes it more exciting also, our zipline goes over a lake so that you can drop in
@theJonnymacАй бұрын
there is a second stop block, the one he is hitting is just the bungee brake
