I didn’t know who that was at first that was my first time hearing the song that was cold hook , I appreciate the lyrical content of Ren and Eden Nash on the song with him is a great collaboration…

@@patrickquinlan3056 i know I have been following him for many years. In this case it's an old sample he is reusing :) not him singing, there's the link in the comments to check out the original sample

The "down at the bottom of the ocean" part is a sample. The pack it is part of is on the Logic software he uses sometimes. Autograf used it on Dream as well, and it seems the sample might have originated here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/b7WZi82S1L-Uk3U.html (Everyone thinks it is Ren though because he manipulates his voice so often.) 😊

I really, really love this song- everything about it, Ren, Eden, the melody the lyrics… What amazes me, is that it is written by a a young guy from a welsh village but it could just as easily be an old negro spiritual song from the cotton fields of the Deep South, from a 150 years ago. Just extraordinary!

when i first heard the song i never heard of eden before and i thought it was a dude and he did the “sample” but then eden did her verse and i was like “wait was that ren too in the hook?!” i was baffled 😂

it's actually a free sample found on GarageBand that Ren used, it's used in other tunes (e.g. Autograf, Dream)

I’d bet good money on that. He may have taken the melody as a sample but if he has, he’s laid his own vocals on it. His voice is so distinctive it couldn’t be anyone else. If someone stripped out all the music tracks it would be clear as day to anyone.
