After buying all Barren Camo pieces, I appreciate these vids confirming my thoughts on the pattern. However now I also want to pickup some Forest 2.0 as well for early season here in PA.

Barren is my go to pattern west of the Missouri River. Works perfectly.

Some camos just are too dark and blob out at a little bit of distance. I'm not a deer, but if i'm trying not to blob into a human shape, then the lighter is my choice. Cool vid, I own some of both patterns.

i picked up the barren pants this summer. and not even because of the pattern, but because they fit so well. now, after wearing throughout the hunting season, i'm super-impressed with them. they were fine, early season, with nothing underneath. and i wore them throughout the rest of the season, which ended yesterday, with just long-johns underneath. not once was i even remotely cold. and that was with temps down to -20C. a couple days were down to -25C and i had light track pants on underneath, and was warm as could be. and i was able to see how they looked, on some of my trailcam vids, where i was walking to or away from the cam. they blended in very well, throughout the season, even in the snowy late-season. i'm definitely getting a jacket now.

Yeah, I feel barren is the more versatile pattern from UA Hunt. Great to hear they performed well. My issue with the pants were I felt they were cut to low on the waist, more like a designer cut than a utility cut, did they correct that?

@@CamoMatrix they must have, because these fit great. I know my old pants, big bills, were cut like that, and had a real shallow crotch. But those big bills were the best-designed pant i ever had, besides that crotch fit. They had big cargo pockets on the front thighs that i found to be the most useful things EVER. My mitts would go there, and my toque/facemask too, when i wasn't wearing them. I've never seen another pant with those.

Rewatched and tallied...I have forest 2.0 winning out 5-3 but tieing 4x. Specifically on spring green up, late season hardwoods, lichen covered mountain top, & western fall thickets...what do you think? Also UA barren appeals to my fashion senses more...whatever that's worth, lol.

I feel that Barren may be a better overall pattern in my opinion from the deer vision perspective and being more versatile in more of the season.

I’m sitting here wearing the forest 2.0’s that I literally just got in the mail, I might have to get some Barren too. Lol

Hunting turkey in it or just trying it on? I own some forest 1.0 but 2.0 looks to be better pattern in my simulations. Barren is a good one also and may be more useful for deer vision throughout the season since it is brown, tan and black only. Be sure to come back and post how you feel it performed.
