You're evaluation of a great training shoe is spot on. Having run in the V1 for about 250km, the flow outsole holds up better than you think. I wish they increased the width of the heel, it's a bit unstable if you start heel striking. Do you know if they changed the makeup of the flow foam (didn't know it was super critical; thought it was standard EVA). The price is the biggest hurdle for me, unless its on sale.

I have these and love it as well. The Flow outsole does hold pretty well. I will be curious to see your experience, if you are able to do a follow up.

I have the v.1 and use it as a tempo shoe. The outsole is not very durable, though. After only a 100 km it started to show signs of wear. Fortunately I've got those at a discounted price(around 170€).

I bought these shoes to use in the London marathon. I thought they were great and felt quick over shorter distances 5ks 10ks, over longer runs I thought they really lacked comfort and stability.

I'm running the Toronto marathon this weekend in these. Picked them up at 40% off from under Armour website. First time wearing a "super shoe". I've prob got about 120km of training runs with them. I feel like they softened up a little since my first run. Definitely feel the pop and notice holding faster paces is easier vs my speed 2 that I use as a daily. I'm a midfoot to forefoot striker and find the wide forefoot provides a stable landing zone and works well with the front rocker. My main complaint with the shoe is the fit. I love the wider forefoot but I find the midfoot is too narrow for me so If I try to tie the shoes up to get a secure fit I get pressure on the inside and outside of the arch. To avoid this I have to tie the shoes loser which can cause my foot to move around slightly in the shoe with quick direction changes and I don't get that secure locked in fit.But tbh running on the street around my neighbourhood It hasn't been an issue. The other issue is it's a little heavier than most of the mainstream marathon shoes. I think they could save weight by getting rid of the flow foam and adding rubber. I agree that it is a great training shoe, but I wouldn't buy it at regular price. I'd probably go with the endorphin pro 4 at full price. Get the velociti elite on sale and it would be a great training shoe and/or a budget racer. Hoping to hit a 3:45 PR this weekend and will be working up to a 3:30 in the fall.

Had a pair of non outsole shoes a few years back, fell on my bum twice in the rain, walking, within a few hundred meters. Never ever getting another pair.

Best shoe from Under Armour but there's still better shoes at that price point, Metaspeed Sky Paris or Edge Paris comes to mind, that's a belter! Good luck for London Chris!

As much as you like these at that price point there are tons of shoes that give you a little bit more. Why the UA Elites over the Nike VF, NB SC Elite, Endorphin Pro 4, Hoka Cielo, Asics Metaspeed, Adios Pro 3? Tough to break into that market with an “ok” shoe. If the UA was half the price I’d take a punt but at full pop no chance. Cheers Fordy, happy running!!

It's hard to understand any company who can't get sizing right by now. Seems like that would be the easiest thing of all. If your designers screwed up the last dimensions, should be easy to catch before production ramps up and just change the stupid size labels. (Oh, and get a competent last designer for next time.)
