Variations is clever marketing, more and more shoes to supply to more and more runners, trend I see is more and more runners which is great. Problem with all these new shoes is I need to find more and more excuses to tell the wife why I need more shoes 😂😂

The GT2000 ran almost a full size long for me. I'm normally a 11.5 in most shoes, had to size down to an 11 in the Asics Nimbus 26, and then 10.5 for the in the GT2000 12. Maybe it's just me, I have a long narrow foot, with a long big toe.

I got 10miles in mine over the last 2 days and it definitely wants you to mid/heel strike to get what youre supposed to get out of it. Im a mid/forefoot runner so it's been a difficult transition so far. When i tried to run the way i normally do i was about 10 minutes away from a serious blister on the pad of my left foot. So today i changed my foot strike and ran without the shoelaces and it felt really good! Easy & fun zone 2 workout when you run at the mid strike. Idk if ill be able to mid strike at faster paces bc i almost feels like I'm stomping and im not a fan of that. But it does feel like, with the mid foot strike, that I'm actually going through the actually rocker of the shoe. It's like running in a Hoka except that peak starts further back than the Hoka's. The Hoka rocker has always felt like it wanted you on the forefoot for me, which is what im used to.
@gingram216 сағат бұрын
When i tried to run on my forefoot the first time i put them on i felt a weird pressure on my arch the entire time plus the beginnings of a blister. That wasn't very fun 🤣

@@FordyRuns cool. I was just curious... It's tough. I have a review channel (not shoes or running) and so I know what you are talking about. I think some people are so scared to give a negative review, that almost every review ends up being full of praise. The problem is, you really can cost people a heck of a lot of money to keep yourself getting free shoes. I am sure you will have experienced the 'give a negative review' (or even a mild review!) and end up being cut off from being sent any future products. I can understand that dilemma, but I guess you have to make a choice about why you're in it at that point. Well done for making the right one 😁

Good to see back running after your calf strain. I strained mine training for Leeds Marathon. Thankfully I only needed 2 weeks out. What's the need for the really long disclaimer?? I see Kofuzi doing something a little similar but he seems to of almost put his own brand onto it..
@FordyRunsКүн бұрын
thanks! disclaimer is to try and be as transparent as I can and if possible even set a benchmark. There are channels that are not doing it, getting paid for reviews, journalists making a living out of it and not stating that anyway. Their views will be impacted by brands and agencies. There are 'Reviewers' not running in the shoes, doing 10 miles and claiming they are the best shoe ever! I am independant and want anyone watching to know I am not beholding to anyone and hopefully the very least that I am a runner and I run in the shoes and will say whatever I like.

Not sure whether it counts as a trend, but after years of being left behind and stuck in the past, the last 12 months have seen Mizuno reappear with some super interesting shoes. The Rebellion Pro and Flash and now the Neo Vista are a far cry from their stale line up. They’ve always done quality gear and quality shoes but got left behind in the tech. Looks like that’s changing and they are actually exciting in their releases now and it’s nice to see that!

@Amir-dz1wy2 күн бұрын
When a reviewer receives a free product, there's an inherent bias towards positive feedback. The company providing the free shoes likely expects glowing praise in return. This creates a pressure to write a positive review, even if the reviewer doesn't genuinely love the product. Furthermore, reviewers might feel obligated to overlook flaws or shortcomings to maintain a good relationship with the brand for future collaborations
@FordyRuns2 күн бұрын
I can understand this rationale 100% especially with so much bs out there from people who are not even running or using the products sent. For me I don't care what I say or who I upset I will always give an honest account. You can see this in various reviews I have done on this channel where I give constructive criticism. Also any brand/retailer that sends a shoe does so knowing I will say what I want as I am independent. This has led to some brands and agencies not sending me products or being invited to activations around new launches. I am not a journalist like other channels and get paid for those reviews. This is not my full time job. I am not a media company, I am totally independent. My views and opinions are my own. I hope that clarifies your point.

I'm with you in that I really REALLY don't get why the 'super' shoes are getting so heavy. Once upon a time (back in my day when I were a lad and you had take the horse and carriage to the races) racers were all about the absolute lightest possible shoe to the point where 'racing flats' were like wearing pieces of tissue paper, and gawd help you if you had any biomechanical issues at all.
