He is white, isn't he? And black too? He's mixed race. I'm willing to bet he speaks grew up speaking two dialects of English (AAVE and 'white' American English) . When I lived with family in Singapore/Malaysia (near the border between the two) I wound up speaking either Hiberno-English (Irish English) or Minglish (Malaysian English) depending on who I was with. My mother too speaks Minglish or British English depending on who she's with. It's almost like being bilingual. Although I have since lost my Malaysian/Singaporean accent and now I just speak a hybrid of Hiberno-English and Australian English in all contexts.

It takes some time to remove access and all the security personnel were probably there too so it's completely realistic, given the short time frame, for him to till be able to walk through that door.

I was working for a transportation company and I was about two months along into my employment. I got a call on my phone from somebody named Scott and I had no idea who it was. He was talking to me all normal and we were just shooting the breeze. He then said that he had heard from some people that I was doing a good job and was always willing to take on an extra shift and they just wanted to say they appreciated me for doing that for them. I said, "Well, I live about five minutes from the HQ so it doesn't really matter if I get home a half an hour later or not, plus if you knew what they paid me, you'd understand how much the overtime pay really helps out." The next day I went to work and asked the manager who this person was and he told me that it was the District Manager! I immediately shook my head and said, "Oh man, I was joking around with how much I got paid with him!" It never came back to haunt me, I think the man understood where I was coming from by the tone of my voice. But, lesson to be learned, be careful what you say and who you say it around.
