I finally bought another after having one on a 2007 F150. I wasn't happy with the install though I followed the instructions. I removed that box when I sold the truck. My 2011 F150 install was much better and now have boxes on both sides. Mostly cargo straps and things for when pulling a trailer on on the driver's side. Emergency items like a fire blanket and other firefighter equipment are on the passenger side.

Thanks for the vid. This concept is fantastic, the OEMs need to develop their own version. I feel like the plastic used is a bit cheap, would prefer to see a magpul style instead

i love the idea of the swing box but after installing them i found they are terrible. i've bust 1 of them already. plastic is to hard and brittle. i no longer have 4 feet inbetween the boxes so i can not hall plywood or drywall ect. i'm glad i had this experience before i bought them for my new truck.

The key lock where it slides under the lock bracket it easily comes off the case making the locking mechanism useless i had to add additional locks

Even with the tailgate closed, I see there's a fairly large gap between case and tailgate. Would locking my tailgate prevent someone from unlatching the Swingcase, rotating, lifting and walking off with it? I'd hate to have to undo a padlock on it every time I want to swing it out.

Yes, so it can't be lifted with the tailgate closed. So if the tailgate was locked, the case couldn't be removed. The lid could be opened, but there is a key lock you can use to lock the lid shut.

I just installed one on my 2020 Ram 1500 and you can remove even with the tailgate locked. I tested it to see. It will come off. Maybe not on other model trucks but it needs a lock for 2020 Ram.

I just bought a 2016 Ram, the same color. I am glad to see this video. I just ordered two swing cases and a tonneau cover and was not sure if the bed lights were in the way.. I see it fits, but does it block light distribution? I guess the lights could be moved.

it definitely blocks some of the light, but it does shine around the toolbox some.

I've had this for 4 years and it still works well. It does not rattle while driving and has held up great over the last 4 years.

Did they come with a weight restriction/recommendation? Something that’s held on by only one swing bracket and nothing to support its weight after it swings out from the side of the truck doesn’t seem like it’s be very durable. The reason I ask is because I’m looking for a Christmas gift for someone who tends to over fill things, usually with heave items. Please reply asap, if I don’t order it soon(assuming it’s what I want) if it’s going to be here for Christmas

I had no issues with weight, the bracket was very sturdy. Even if it was filled with bricks, it would probably be fine

@@speedogomer thanks for a speedy reply. I had just watched another reviewer. For anyone else wondering like I was. The maximum suggested capacity by manufacture is 75lbs, which is way more then one expected. Thanks again for your help. I’ll be putting in an order for them today

I bought these swing boxes but my brackets don’t have the notch cut out to go around the side rail hooks. Did you customize your bracket or did it come from the company that way?

Is there enough room between the case and the bed to allow for the 5th wheel plug in the bed side wall?

I'm not really sure. There may be room for the outlet, but I doubt it could be plugged in with the box in place.

I have a new 2017 Big Horn with Linex applied to the bed. Will the box mount without problems, and not chip, break the Linex?

Dave Cox my bed liner is from the factory, so I'm not sure about the linex brand, but I think it would work just fine.

G Solomon I guess it depends how the rack is mounted. As long as the mounts don't go into the bed, I would think it would work.

Just found out about these today. Yours looks like new. But was wondering are they as tough as they appear? Had a plastic tool box before and the sun and heat just kills it. Would you say it will last 10 years?

Mine has lasted 3 years with no signs of wear, but it's been under a tonneau cover the whole time. It's a pretty heavy plastic, and I would think it would hold up for 10 years if it's not abused

Mine was under a cover for three years as well, it just split along a manufacturer seam and developed cracks in the case (no misuse or abuse by me)...contacted undercover with photos of the problem, they would not replace the case due to being out of warranty.

Are you able to use the tie down point behind the case? It appears that the Swingcase blocks it completely.

aztriple the tie down point is exposed some. You can still access it a little. It's also easy to just remove the case and lay in in the bed if you need to use that tie down.

If the tailgate is locked and closed you shouldn't be able to lift it out. You can also add a padlock that would secure the case even if the tailgate was open.

Not likely. The box has to swing out quite a ways before it can be lifted up.

No, the slide out takes up a good amount of space and is NOT flush with the wheel well. It sticks out quite a bit. I bought one but now regretting it.

I have never had water inside of mine. It appears water tight, but mine has been under a tonneau cover since this video was shot, so its rarely in direct rain.

The SwingCase is junk. My truck is garaged 90% of it's life (2013 with only 32,000 miles). I keep a couple pairs of gloves, some funnels and other lightweight items in them. My first set of cases started to crack and spider out throughout the entire case. During car washing or rain, water will fill the cases. I sent pictures to Undercover and they replaced them under warranty. About 8 months into the second set they started to do the same thing. I called Undercover again and they said they wouldn't replace them anymore. JUNK!

Speedogomer you must have a miracle set. I stopped my local line-x dealer yesterday and they had them in the showroom. I told them my are all cracked on my second set and the owner says they all crack and even the set on house personal truck went to hell. He says they spray the outside with Line-x to keep together.

Jontay Love you may not have to, and it's honestly really easy to move the box. You just lift it out, and could set it beside the bike.

True but i have a bed extender so this product i wouldn't be able to use the bed extender flips over into the bed of the truck when the tailgate is closed

Jontay Love I'd look at toolboxes that mount to the front of the bed, so you'd have some clearance.
