Before I heard this version, which was played on the radio in the Washington, DC, area a lot in the summer of 1969, I could never make out most of the lyrics in the Beatles' version. This song made them clear to me. Maybe because I finally knew them, I was able to understand the Beatles' version. I also remember seeing them on "American Bandstand". If I recall correctly, the female member's name was Jane.
