The hardest movie I had to write about

This one gets ignored often because - well, you take faith in the long disclaimer at the front that no animal was injured as they are making a comparison to - its a dog eat dog world and often the dogs that bite end up being the ones that AMBITION rewards as they never give themselves away with a bark. Doona Bae was given the role (she said she knew she was an actor by the end) because she was literally the only actress to would agree to not wear make up - she said her "model rating went down a stunning 30%". The evil man is endlessly wrestling with the guilt of his actions and giving to charity and seeming to want to help find the dogs - and he sees himself as "a good person" but that life has forced him to be ruthless to get to his goals (again the guilt - but he ALWAYS will do evil when he perceived something or someone is in "the way" of his goal achievement). The scene where he is talking to the nice clerk and his nose starts to bleed - which is it his true character - "his goodness" is based on hiding the blood behind an honest persona. The man who gets his "dream job and position in society" looks to the woods (we would say homeless) where the clerk ended up - and does he "imagine' her as beautiful and happy out there - so that he can literally "turn his back" and get back to his success .. convincing himself that the person who was killed by a train - opening the opportunity for him to get his dream job - might have killed themselves because of their guilt - that he would not come to that because he mentally has convinced himself that it worked out well for everyone.

Nicely written and edited review. I wish more thought was given into this film by others as well, instead of it just being viewed as Bong Joon-ho’s worst film.

This is not hos best movie imo... But after i saw this it makes more sens... I think story is not that interesting but bolier kim really måde things interesting for me... This movie did not touch me as much

Really a good movie with lots of memorable moments, especially the toilet paper scene (many mentioned in the comment section). Recently released dark comedy genre are mostly sex related comedy (super models) and no complex story at all & boring af
