Question i have a mk6 gli w oem bi xenons. Is there a way to downgrade to halogen. Im trying to install all this aftermarket headlights only fit mk6gli w oem halogens . Or is there an adapter to b able to get em on my car?

2:33 Actually, both Ed's and Helix (directly from OPD) offer a preinstalled HID kit. I cannot recommend doing that option enough. It's only $100 more and they do the install of the bulbs for you.

I have a 2017 GTI and did this upgrade from halogen to hids with the becautoparts golf r reps, they say you don't have to code the computer with this upgrade but my LEDs flickered with the low beams on, and I had to code LEDs in the computer to get it to not flicker, not sure if it was the hid kit or what but after code change it worked perfectly.

You have to get projectors specifically made for xenon lighting, not just use regular halogen projectors. There's a difference.

Maybe this will work in USA but in Germany you will need to test it after changing it you cannot just do it in you garage with Tape on your wall as well you will need TÜV certificate and the law in Germany says if you use Xenon light you will need the water cleaner for the light

I bought the Jetta sport 2016, came with halogens. My vw service rep advised against modding the lights to bi-xenon. Same car comes out for 2017, and yep Full LED package available for $1095.

I ended up getting Ed's replica lights vs the helix ones. By the looks here the installation was a little easier, I didn't have to drill any holes or anything. That said the installation was a huge pain in the ass (the housings and the retrofit kit) and if I could go back in time I would just pony up for the sport trim to get all this shit included from the factory.

This is an insufficient and misleading video on this topic for anyone contemplating an HID retrofit. For example, you don't mention: - That aftermarket projector kits come with the opening and grommet allowing addition of an external HID kit. You don't need to be drilling new holes in the housing yourself. - Where and how the external HID components can be mounted - What happens to the high beams with the projector housing - Using the beam pattern from the OEM halogen lights does not help to adjust the HIDs. There is no sharp cutoff on the halogen/reflector light pattern that can be used as a reference for the HID/projectors. This process requires a correct HID beam alignment from scratch (i.e. measure and mark). There are much more complete and accurate guides to this process on VWVortex.

Changing out headlights is not considered a retrofit. Also adding Xenon bulbs to a halogen headlight is also not considered a retrofit.
