International Plumbing Code Chapter 9 is all about sanitary drainage systems. This video presentation covers IPC sections 907 to 912. This video presentation contains explanations about venting for stack offsets, crown venting, individual venting, common venting and wet venting methods.
This video is based on the 2021 International Plumbing Code, so chapter 9 might look a little different than previous or later versions of the code. Generally, the code requirements do not change much from one edition to the next.

Why does UPC require water closet to be most downstream connection to a horizontal wet vent (and shown such in the video examples) but IPC does not indicate this requirement?

IPC and UPC handle wet venting differently. The UPC is generally more restrictive.

Where did you find the exception for toilets, regarding distance from trap to vented line? Is that how you read 909.2?

Hello. Good question! I got that information from the International Plumbing Code Commentary book some years ago. It was drawn out and labeled on several diagrams. Now that you ask, I am having a hard time finding it in the code. It might have been their recommended interpretation. I or it might be in the IRC. I will keep looking.

Why is it a violation at 16:13 but not in the example at 15:33 where it’s a single bathtub entering upstream of the wet vent? Is it because there’s two separate fixtures or just solely that the WC needs to be downstream of the wet vent?

Hey. Good question. If you look closely, the bathtub in 16:33 is upstream from the lavatory vent connection. This means that it does not have an individual connection to the vent because the vent begins and the lav and goes downstream from there. The problem is that both the toilet and the bathtub are upstream. If it is just the toilet or the shower, that is okay, because the fixture connects to the vent at the lavatory, but when two fixtures are upstream in this example, it is a violation because you cannot have multiple fixtures with one connection to the vent. Does that make sense?
