I'm Iranian, and I should say Iran can not be without Islam, for 1400 years Iran has been a Muslim-majority country and it can not be changed overnight, no matter how much some people would want that!. Western influence through Social Networks and Sattelite networks spread through Iran in the last 10 years like never before. Hijab was dying down on its own. If you compare women's cover from when the Islamic republic was founded and now 40 years later, You could see the obvious change. Just check the Iranian sportswomen cover in the last Olympics. The hijab was taking its natural change and I strongly believe in 5 or 10 years it would have been resolved on its own. But so suddenly, over the death of Mahsa Amini, which is unclear to this day. this organic change turned into an artificial sudden growth, just like when you use too many chemicals and fertilizers in agriculture, the fruits are no longer healthy and could cause cancer. Iran has an 85 million population and only the middle class are trying to change laws, most people are only concerned with the economy.
