Be the heroine in your life-in the past 2 years I have changed everything-I am even thinking of cutting my hair! Sold my dream property-the dream has changed! Everything else changed too: Job, city, housing (3 times and about to be 4), changing jobs again and moving to TX! I am a teacher so just changing districts not careers….oh kicked a narcissist to the curb and spent time with me. I now recognize myself! I spent time making new friends connecting with old ones, reconnected with my faith….I am starting a new chapter in Tx with experience. Also did all the work to make this transition easier. Almost forgot! I am about to finish up a graduate degree with a GPA of 3.78….I am kicking ass and taking names. You CAN too!!

It's the first time for me to note here. I'm 58 year's old and I've been studying English for about one and half month. In fact, I started to study English about 45 years ago. But as often the case is in Korea in those days, I was forced to study English focusing on vocabulary, grammar and reading comprehension, and after graduating college, there is no opportunity to contact with English, so I'm so poor at listening and speaking English compared with reading. That is not to say I'm good at reading and writing English. Anyway, In the course of searching some channels helpful for me to study English, I found this channel and often(maybe once in a week?) visited here. Of course I can't hear you perfectly, so it took so long time to understand whatever you(Ms Mel Robbins) said in this channel, but despite of the lack of understanding, sometimes I have felt my being into deep in my mind and something raising me up. I wrote not a short letter that's why I'd like to express my gratitude to Ms Mel Robbins. I'm looking forward to seeing you in your seminar or coaching program or whatever something, when I'm able to listen and speak English enough to hear you. I wish you could be happy all the time in front of you.

"Hey there, fellow ADD brain here! 🧠 I've had more career switches than Cher's comebacks - dental assistant, Esthetician, makeup artist in film and fashion (that I loved and was REALLY good at) ! Now, at 52 I'm back home in a small town on Canada's east coast, I'm feeling a bit lost in a sea of photographers and influencers much younger than me. I started with fine art photography to keep my sanity when I got here, then COVID hit, and I pivoted to food photography. But with everyone doing it for fun and free around here, I'm feeling frustrated. Feeling a pull towards nutrition classes, creating my own recipes, maybe a cookbook but again such a sea of others online. Bloggin? Is that still a thing? I"m kinda social media out and behind the 8 ball for learning all this technical Sh#$#....... Playing the comparison game kills my get up and go. How do I navigate all these paths? 📸🎨☕" I've taken so many online classes and coaching but it all seems to guide one towards Podcast, teaching or coaching. Again...such a sea of others.....I'm looking for something new...a new way. Am I asking to much? Should I follow the masses? Sorry for the Rant.

Sometimes I wonder what the age of your target audience is. I am 62 and while yes I realize I still have time. It is a short span with physical limitations. In my late twenties to forties I did many things like owning my own business and starting nonprofits. I even tackled a countywide garbage problem that took everything I had mentally and emotionally. So I know today at this age there is no way I could take on any of those things. I will definitely have to scale back anything I decide to do. This recent divorce from my covert narcissist ex-husband. 11 years nearly broke me. It will take some time for me to recover from that trauma.

Hi Mel, Great episode. I needed this. Thank you! However, one question. How can one tell the difference between the thing that pulls/pushes one is just a day dream/sthg that I keep hoping and fantasizing of or an actual adventure that is pulling/pushing me? I mean I have a vision of what I would like to do/work with, but I don't know If the thing that I constantly day dream of is what I am meant to do. Confusing to differentiate the two. Take good care! ❤😊

I don't think you understand what she means. Dealing with your own traumas and finding way to heal yourself, after that using your stories to share with others and help them find awareness, courage to their path of healing and staying strong throughout their journey, instead of accepting and affirming one's life in a victim mindset is also considering a "hero". Everyone has their own problems and past trauma, the point is not to minimize them, but use them as "turning your pain into power" and shine your light after working on your darkness.
