i thought the "But, with Patience, I will make my way through" was a clever refrence to how exhausting and boring that hallway was 💀

i started undertale recently, and in that room my mom told me to take out the trash and when i got back it was gone, and i was so confused then i found out

''and they said that being lazy couldnt get me anywhere'' -shayy

I didnt know the laser was there 💀 On my playthrough i did both the puzzle and fought the monsters just to get lost go back and find that the path i didnt take took me to the judgement hall

so that's why it felt weird when I go to the fighting route (with a level/button at the end) and nothing happened. turns out the puzzle and the button disables the same thing 💀

I remember the first time I played I did the three routes. When I took a break from playing and came back to see the laser gone, I had forgotten it was there, so I went through the wrong way two times, in which I did the two challenges. I used to be dumb and smart at the same time. It didn't change much.

The laser was not strong enough. Frisk’s mere presence in that room was enough to erase it from existence.

I honestly don't know how people didn't know about this, I read that sign and just assumed that waiting there would turn it off in my first playthrough and them proceeded to go do both other paths instead as I figured they'd be more fun then just waiting there for an unspecified amount of time.

Now I'm convinced that nobody, even Toby himself, knows everything about undertale

On my first playthrough, I saw the sign that said "with patience I will make my way through", so I thought I just had to wait in front of the laser. But then I got bored and thought that I was tripping.

I literally ran around for 5 minutes not knowing what to do and then realized it was already open😂

I never knew about this solution until this year. I can imagine that at least some people figured it out based on the waterfall part in Earthbound, considering how much inspiration Toby took from that game

I do genuinely think in deltarune some of the soul modes will have different play styles like for example: while in the purple soul mode you'll shoot webs at purple attacks to block some other attacks to basically like spider man

once again showing how patience is the most goated soul

On my sisters first playthrough she once got the man in the tree by sheer luck. She was very confused and annoyed when she ended up back at the bake sale.

I stopped there to wait the first time because I'm so stupid that I didn't think of the other routes, after 2 minutes it opened and I passed, after a long time, when I went to explore the core, I understood what I had missed :((

I accidentally skipped the core maze by turning my switch off while saving, that was the best thing that ever happened to me in undertale

That person would be me. I did take a break in that room and came back to there being no laser.

i've finished undertale maybe 40 times since i first started playing it in 2017, but this is the FIRST time i've ever heard this :'D

I actually did this on accident on one of my first playthroughs, same with waiting when toriel asks you to after the long hallway. I decided to take breaks and these happened and I didn’t even know it could happen in the game lol

I didn't know about any of this, instead I completely forgot about the laser, did both routes, and got lost for 15 minutes before finally finding the final room

It happened to me, in my first playthrough, I went to eat while I left the game open, when I came back, I didn't understand what happened, I just accepted it 💫

Also, waiting in the room we're toriel says You to stay there gonna make some calls, so there are 2 parts with secrets that require patience

I did take a break near the Lazer and when 8 came back it was gone and I was like "what the hell were did the Lazer go?"

I've been playing undertale for five years and I still didn't remember where exactly do you go at the core.

I was doing a little secret want to hear it? You need to complete the puzzles and then go to the elevator in the begging and it will be opened try it i ain't capping

With Undertale its hard to tell if that kind if thing is just flavor text or if its for real. Both are plausible

I actually did this in my first playthrough. So I got to the room, used the bathroom, and then I came back and the laser was gone. I had expected this to happen because of the sign!

I do this most of the time. I just leave it running and play a round of Undercards until it turns off

Theory: Those tasks didn’t turn off the laser. It was to occupy your time until the laser shut off.

Ok but what would be even funnier is if the laser turned back on when you moved

Markiplier did it in his first playthrough. He played the game live so he stopped in that room and was talking about some things or answering some comments people asked and it happened. He skipped a small portion of the game without even noticing XD

I did it on my first play through basically I didn't have any healing items so I went to snowdon and got some and when I went back it was gone
