Something similar happened to me this year, I met a girl I vaguely knew and kissed her on the dance floor. a couple of months later saw her again and went back to her flat. Nothing came of it but I feel like it will be a special memory I will always cherish. I've kissed 30+ girls but there's something special about having that connection. Born Slippy is british slang. It means quick and alert. The band got the name from a greyhound they won money on at a romford racing track. The term mentally applies to someone who is on pills (specifically esctasy because it was the buzz drug of the 90's) or someone with anxiety because in both situations you'd have racing thoughts and would not be able to calm down and keep still. A stoned person who is zonked out and relaxing is not born slippy. The pacing of this track along with the way it is edited from euphoric keyboard choir and synth stabs visually expressed with long single frame shots to frantic drum pounding shown with lighted quick snippets of film is meant to represent the intake and come down of the effects of a drug. People on drugs like ectasy have heightened sensors and move and react quickly and twitching fashion this is visually expressed in the video with it's onslaught on flashing text and lights as well as Karl rapidly bobbing his head as if he was possessed. Born Slippy is structured like a trance song because it has a epic build up and break down but it really is more of a techno song. I would classify this song as tech trance
@kmanc85719 жыл бұрын
what does nuxx stand for then?
@lasoo889 жыл бұрын
***** It means absolutely nothing. it was a computer error that added the NUXX suffix to the end of their computer files and they just decided to keep it that way just for this song. This track Born Slippy .NUXX was originally released as a b side to the similarly named but unrelated song Born Slippy. Born Slippy is a instrumental track and this track Born Slippy .NUXX which is often referred to as being a mix which it is not is also commonly refereed to as Born Slippy on compilations, music video channels. Underworld also have another song called Born Slippy .TELEMATIC. all three tracks are completely different. None are mixes. They were on some single releases bunched together leaving some to assume that NUXX and TELEMATIC were mixes but they clearly aren't if you listen to them all. Pretty dumb and pretentious act by Underworld to release 3 different songs with essentially the same name. Plain stupid in my book. I hate the NUXX and TELEMATIC suffixes. I wish all the tracks had different names.
@kmanc85719 жыл бұрын
hahaha yeah very confusing... great song though
@lasoo889 жыл бұрын
***** Yep definitely confusing. This is my favourite dance track ever. It's the first Underworld song I ever heard and it's probably what got me into rave music. I always liked dance music but it was all the pop stuff like eurodance, dance-pop, Michael Jackson etc and this was the song that changed that. The song came out when I was only ten and I never knew what this song was called until 2007. I never would have guessed it was a hit song and I didn't know anything about the film Trainspotting all I could remember was the video and keyboard melody.

To think, Karl Hyde and Rick Smith originally formed the nucleus of this band in Cardiff in 1978 as art-rock band Screen Gemz, and then later regrouped as the New Wave / Synth-pop band Freur (who had a UK Chart hit in 1983 with "Doot-Doot")..... and from 1987 onwards evolved into Underworld, and released this Techno anthem, and remain active on the Electronica scene to this day.... Surreal! Just love all the music they've ever released in all their guises - incredible talent!

*SUCH* an awesome song that takes me back to the vacation of a lifetime to Ibiza in '98 *before* it became over commercialized overcrowded and ridiculously expensive.. I got to meet *incredibly* friendly, nice ppl from all over the world who weren't on a phone, posing for pictures, attention or BS.. We were ALL there to dance and have fun..met some *lovely* ppl from Amsterdam who had their "party favors" ready and since I was from CA, I had my own "favors" to happily contribute ;) Went to Amnesia, Pacha, DC-10(can't recall others right now lol) But damn it was amazing! We danced the night away, and then went out on the beach as the sun came up, grabbed a lounge chair near a DJ playing some chill out tunes to take a nap to & enjoy the sun and then did it all over again.. I have 3 tshirts, a handful of pics and all of the *amazing* memories that I'll cherish forever. Thank you to my friends who bought my plane ticket when I was about to not go...I'll never forget you! And I'll never forget hearing Paul Oakenfold and Carl Cox live..WOW just WOW!!

This song always takes me back to the best times of my life. I was 18 in 1996. I was free for the first time. Allowed In clubs for the first time going out with friends every weekend. It seemed like summer every day. The first time I heard this song I was working at pretty polly as a box ended on an imac packing machine. Me and my buddy Andy worked together and when this song came on we stopped and listened. That was the first time I heard it and now every time I listen to it takes me back to those days of clubbing in Mansfield, the yard and limos , vibealite , pleasure dome and gate crasher. When I think about the young people today with all their not allowed to say and do I feel sorry for them. The 90s was the last truly free decade and I was lucky enough to live it. When I die that’s where I’m going. Back to the 90s.

This would absolutely rock any club or EDM concert in 2023 without even sounding old.. Such a masterpiece

They don't party like this anymore though, we used to go crazy! fuck i feel like that world is over, im trying to relive it now after panic attacks and shit, cuz i missed most of it, but i was born in the 80s so this shit came around when i was in my wanting to fuck every hot girl i saw phase lol! crazy i wish i could go back with my mentality that i have now! i would knock all those cunts out cold and take the hot bitches to bed! but i wa a pussy back then worrying about the future! now the future is here and im sad about the past!
