The funny thing is you almost feel for Viktor in his rage, especially if you're a father with a daughter. He feels how any father would feel if his daughter went ahead and dated a guy he didn't like. Of course, most fathers wouldn't kill their daughters for dating a guy they didn't like.

In this canon, Vampires started because of bats. Werewolves started because of wolves, Lycans started sometime after this, many people think Lucian's mother was pregnant with him when she was bitten by a werewolf. Lucian was clearly not an animal, his race was another sentient species. The main reason, although I agree it would be gross, bestiality is wrong, is because animals can't give consent. Lucian could, but in a way the Vampires and Werewolves are both animals. Viktor didn't understand the difference between mindless beasts who had no control over their actions, and sentient beings. If he had treated the Lycans fairly, instead of with contempt, no war would have ever happened. He shouldn't have enslaved the Lycans in the first place, but instead treated them as equals.

@@kimwoodbury3885 Viktor thought it to be a betrayal. Until Lucian, Lycans really were monsters. And it was law to keep the bloodlines seperate. As for them turning selene instead, That wouldn't have happened at all. They would have relocated most likely to stay in hiding away from Amelia, Marcus, and the council who would still want them executed and raise their child somewhere safe. Selene was turned by Viktor because of her resemblance to his daughter as he wanted his daughter back. And the only reason he killed her family was because they knew too much as they were commissioned to build William's prison, which at the time Sonja knew nothing about and I believe Lucian didnt know till many years later because of his eventual involvement with Tanis. They would have no reason to go near Selene or even know she existed.
